I guess someone can't live without a turbo...

When I was in high school, I had a 1994 Ford Probe GT and then a 1993 Eclipse GSX AWD turbo. It was awesome to have a car with turbo engine. I'm old now!! I cannot help to think back then how my life would have been different if I never had a car with turbocharged engine.
Can you imagine a life where you never had owned a car with turbocharged engine nor have you ridden in one? I shudder to think about that.
How do you survive without never feeling the power of turbo?
Read post #11...its the joke of it all.
Wrong thread. It is not turbocharger.

Our son-in-law had a Ford Probe GT. All the time he complained about the turbo problems. He could not wait to trade it in. His current ride is an Infinity G37. No need for a turbo.
My Jeep's 5.7 Hemi is now up to 350 hp. A supercharger would add 100 hp. Less maintenance than a turbo.![]()
A car with a turbocharger isn't as reliable as a regular naturally aspirated car due to more frequent oil changes, keep it running for 5 minutes in idle before shutting it down. Yes, there is a timer to have it shut down automatically when you have to leave the car right away. It is nice to have one for a little more oo mph like the Subaru WRX STi. I love the throttle response and the handling of the car. One of the best around.
My deceased friend's father had a 1986 Saab 900 Turbo, pretty fast little car for its time! It finally broke down at 326,000 miles on it.
Yep, Sti have auto shut down after 5 min. It was pretty neat and less problem.
When did they add that as a feature?
No idea. I learned from my old coworker's Sti 2005.
