I hope if those ADers aren't sending you harassing pm's. If they are, they need to knock it off. But if you mean some people are afraid to express themselves publicly but are sending you private support, I can understand that. I sometimes get the same thing.

They're not harassing me. I just don't understand why people are always apologizing for having differing opinions?

I'm glad that ADers are not harassing you. :)

Wow, thanks, Jillio.

Thanks for interpret about what he said, it seems not bad thing or anti-christian stuff.

I was assume that video were edited with different sound to make Obama looks bad, now, you explain about that then got it.

YW, Pacman! Glad I could help.

And that I support ..isnt the church separate from the state anyway?

It is certainly supposed to be, but it would seem that many politicians confuse the two when running their campaign.

Correct. According to our Constitution, the government is not supposed to interfere with or control individuals' religious beliefs or practices.

I guess they ignore Thomas Jefferson.

This is what Obama said in the video:

"Although we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation, at least not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation and a Hindu nation, and a nation of non-believers."

In other words, he is saying that in America, we have religious freedom, and everyone is entitled to their beliefs. Government does not have the right to force any particular religious belief on anyone.

So, the video is not derogatory at all, like it is being portrayed to be.

... ... ... ... ...

...Okay.

So... Obama said, "...We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of non-believers." Yet... He also said, "We are no longer a Christian nation."

Is that correct?

PS - I do understand the below comment but I don't think he make any sense on the above comment...

He said we are no longer only a Christian nation. We are a multicultural nation of many religions.

It is the same concept as saying "We are no longer a hearing only nation."

KarissaMann05,

Obama´s neutral view over religion issues which mean is he respect ANY/different religion beliefs, not just Christian.

Jillo, please correct my post if I make a mistake.

:ty:

You are correct, Liebling.

Why would anyone be scared by that comment?

What? You want it to be a Christian-only nation? Is that what you want?

What the earth do you think I thought of that way?? Well, are you an anti-Christian person?

No, I was unsured about her comment because the comment was sound like "all religions except Christianity". So, I asked her to make so sure what I understand what she said. I was reliefed when Jillio explained to me so I was actually happy to hear what Obama said. It's pretty great speech he got, really.

NOW... You just lost my respect. Gee, thanks for comment.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

@Byrdie- Getting a little sick of the dickering as well, especially when people can't handle the heat and end up pm'ing me.

At least you get the PM's.

I don't get any.

Uh,....you mean bickering, don't you?

I choose the word, 'dickering' because everyone may have a different opinion on one topic but get along on another topic.

If they didn't--then it would be 'bickering'. :)

If you let a comment on the internet judge whether or not you respect someone, you've got a long way to go.

Thank you for explaining though but since you don't "respect" me, whatever.

Okay, your welcome.

By the way, it's ok to disagree on politics but I also talk about other stuff and in person, I'm usually non-confrontational.
