Californians hit with unprecedented gasoline price jump

Oh, after one member helped me, so I understand about what are you saying.

I love F-250 and has strong interest in diesel engine because they are high reliable and long run.

I have no interest in electric or hybrid cars because they are not reliable and their design is flawed.

I prefer big and tall truck.

actually... hybrid cars like Prius are actually fine. it's got long warranty coverage for 8 years or 100,000 miles. I have couple of friends and my cousin still driving old Prius. no problem at all. over 200,000 miles now.

Have you been in Los Angeles and other parts of cities in California? The air quality is worse than you can image, worse than in NYC. California does not have much choice but to enforce stringent emission laws. Too many people move to California than move out which increases numbers of cars result more dirtier air quality.

I have been in Los Angeles myself and understood why they made so big deal with emission.

Yup, high pollution causes health problem like asthma, that's not good.

I rather to have outside with fresh air.

yes. several times. was there last year.

still much better than back in 90's. why LA gets it worse than NYC is because of 2 things - some air pollution came from China (yes it's that massive) and NYC has much stronger wind to move it away. LA doesn't. That's why Mexico City has smog during daytime and less smog during night time. Mexico City is unfortunate to be surrounded by mountains... meaning lack of strong wind movement.

right. their way isn't a right approach because it ain't working. this is one of the biggest reasons why I want to go back to grad school to study GIS and transportation research at.... guess where... *gasp* UCLA! but gotta take care of my $$$ matter first before I get into college debt again

There is another reason too. Gas stations in California tend to be smaller than is most areas (probably because of land prices) which means stations purchase less making delivery costs a bigger hit. In fact on of the reasons I ditched my truck out there for a tiny car is because it was so hard to get in and out of gas stations.

Also the "convenience store" portion is MUCH smaller, so gas stations have fewer alternative items to profit on.

(Granted this is in the cities. not rural parts of CA)

eh gas stations in cities are always small and expensive. beside - if people can afford cars and apartments in cities, they surely can afford this gas price.

You got Powerstroke? I love my powerstroke, wish it is 7.3 instead of 6.0. I am ok with it since it has been trouble-free. I learn that I could take veg oil but I must filter and dry it up first before throw in my tank. If it is 7.3, just throw in and it will run regardless.

what model do you have?

Oh really, that cool. I'm more comfortable to drive at high height and big size, just my preference. :)

After read article from someone posted.

I'm surprised that federal got involvement in unusual high gas price case in California and I don't know that FTC could take gas price very seriously if they went up like crazy.

Always? I don't believe that is correct. It certainly hasn't been my experience. *shrug*

*shrug* you're entitled to your opinion.

SF is not cheap to live in. It's certainly not "car-friendly". It's their choice to buy a car and live in SF and if they can afford both, cool story brah.

The gas stations in downtown Birmingham is smaller, also gas stations in other big cities like Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle and NYC are smaller too, but it wasn't unusual for me because any cities that spread over have bigger gas stations, like in suburb.

Ahh, so we have gone from "cities" to "downtowns" now. Interesting.

Ok, I'm not comfortable to discuss about gas stations in cities with you due to communication issue.

No, it comes in from factory. I have not made any modification. Everything is "Stock" even factory installed trailer brake system, climate controls, upfitter (4 switches) for whatever one want to add on like plower lights, strobes, etc. The wheel is 20 inch. I kinda regret this part because tires is damn expensive and have to special ordered. But it looks great on my truck.
The picture shown is not mine but identical (Only missing is the cap).

When I have stupid issues with EPA related parts, I will delete (remove permanently) them when they fails. EPA related issue is most common problems with 6.0. '07 or later is much worse, and stay away from 2011 and later powerstrokes.

Did you switch the rims?
