I say "To each his own". Some of us like cable; while others prefer satellite.

What's the difference? If we all are satisfied with what we have, why argue about it?

Reba,,,But look at all those rip off taxes you gotta pay. You see sattelite cannot charge you local and county tax because of the FCC regalations. Thats why a lot of homeowners assn,Or cities cannot tell you cannot put a dish up. The law was reversed by congress and the FCC.The reason why homeowners assn and your city dont want you have a DSS System cause theyre not reciving the money.Thats why cable companies sign a lease with your city and the homeowners assn, Cause they charge you local and county tax and people are dumping the cable and getting a DSS system.
I agree that taxes on communications are a "rip off".

Our homeowners association and city do not prohibit satellite TV. Many people in my neighborhood have the small dishes attached to their houses. They are just not allowed to have large dishes in their yards because of the appearance.

I know reba. But the old laws used to say homeowners association and city have the right to prohibit satellite TV. Thanks to the republicans they reverse that law. And cable tv industry is struggling because of satelite companies.
