depends.

for example, I never seen "Hellboy" before I bought the DVD but I hear from alot of ppl, especially my brother saying it was quite a good movie so I decided to buy it and then watch it and it turns out that they were right so it was pretty cool movie indeed...though I never read the comic books either so perhas I would buy some graphic novels of "Hellboy" sometime.

so if I hear tons of good reviews about a film, I would buy it but sometimes if I dont hear anything much about it and I wanted to see that film, I rather rent it first.

there are some movies that I never seen and refused to buy or rent it anyway...such as "Fanastic Four" was reviewed from many ppl saying it was one of the crappiest films ever made so I'm not even interested in buying that DVD anyway.

Movie Gallery have good deal: buy 2 PPV (used) dvds or VHS, and maybe game, get 2 free- what a good deal! I started to rent DVDs or VHS few months, and I wanted to watch "are we there yet?", and some other dvds that I rented, and my ex boyfriend forget to bring to my place, and I was :pissed: so from now on I am gonna rent and bring home to watch them and buy DVDs when I have more money. Hope I will do again in few months later...

Yes, yesterday I went to Blockbuster to rent some DVD's and was surprised to find used DVD for sale very cheap. $5 to $10 each!!

I recalled that I bought every Walt Disney VHS videos because I used to collect it for my girls to watch it thousands and hundred times, and now its worthless because DVD took over!!! :|

Wow, they have BlockBuster Down Under amongst the roos!? LOL!

I always buy movies even if i have never seen them. I NEVER rent!! I hate renting movies. if i dont like them oh well, but i love owning movies. I have about 150 dvds!! Not that I watch them that often, but I love always having them there whenever I do want to watch them.

I would like to buy these movies are from Paramount, Dreamworks, and New Line Cinema, each studios have captioned on extras.

And I dislike to buy a movie, I always to use a rent through Netflix for movies that movies with bonus features that don't have CC. I have a 3-dvds with
unlimited for $9.99 per month!

Sometime i got rent when watch it .. then i interest then i can buy or sometime .. i do buy a new dvd .. Smile..

What I do first is rent the movie and if I like it then I will buy the DVD.

I am the same way with library books. I check out the " What's New " on the library shelves and take one home to read and if the book is worth keeping on my personal home library shelf then I get it from Barnes Nobles.

:) :ily: reading books more than watch movies. Call me old fashioned but sometimes the book is better than the DVD movie, itself. :)
