WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) said on Thursday he planned to start work immediately on reforming America's ailing Social Security (news - web sites) retirement system and predicted a long slog ahead.

"We will start on Social Security now. We will start bringing together those in Congress who agree with my assessment that we need to work together," he said in his first news conference after the bitterly contested presidential election.

Bush said reforming Social Security would be a priority during his second term and he predicted it would be very tough and costly.

The future of Social Security and the financial strains it faces when 77 million baby boomers begin to retire was a major issue in this year's presidential elections.

There will be lot of angry senior citizens. I feel sorry for them... Soon, deafies will be next.

The eldery people deserve to collect their social security because they worked for many years to save all their money.

As for the Deaf people, they should get their jobs. I am tired of seeing
Deaf people are lazy. They feel sorry for themselves because they can't hear and speak. HUD - Section 8, lifeline on the ultities, etc... They are NOT handicapped. They should be work. Get their ass to look for the jobs.
I have seen them, they are on vacation too much. It is time for them to go to work like hearing people.

My most concern is about the eldery people !! They work for the years !!!

That is terrible. Bush always focus on wealth people instead of middle class

I did not understand why would he put the money in the stock market with our tax payers. For what ???

What about homeless people ?? They do not have a house, oil for heat, food, etc... I am angry because Deafies involved parties, travel, nice cars, houses, etc... Hearing ppl can't get their social security because they can hear... I have seen hearies who are suffered with diease like cancer and wheelchair. They can't get soc sec. Deafies can't hear, they feel sorry for them to collect the soc sec checks.
