:roll: At this point, no. The Iraq war is starting to catch up with Bush. He realizes it best not to go out and starting anymore wars. Recent polls show only 31 percent believe the war was worth the costs.

And its pretty childish to go around the "Osama is there" when you don't even know. The article states, "maybe." Get over your war hawk fantasies. There isn't going to be a draft. Regardless of the army recuitment shortfall, there is still a very adequate amount of soldiers.

Just FYI facts about the draft:

Men can be drafted into the ARMY only. They cannot be drafted into the other services.

If Bush want a draft then he should draft his daughters first.

Women cannot be drafted.

The draft is a random lottery.

The United States does not currently have a draft, just Selective Service registration.

Raven, the new draft that was proposed was defeated in Congress last year. Under the proposed bill, the draft would include mandatory service for all people from ages 18-26 for at least 2 years, females would be included, and there would be no stipend that could be paid to get out of it. It was a bill that was proposed by Democrat Charles Rangel. It was actually quite ingenious of him to do it, because 1. the bill was something that Republicans wanted, more manpower for war, but it would mean that these Republican's cannot make exemptions, and that their own children would be included, unlike past drafts, where lower, middle class Americans were targeted.

Here is a copy of the bill. Turns out Rangel reintroduced it. It has already been defeated at least once that I know of, and I'd be amazed if it was passed. Notice the first statement of the bill:

To provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes.
