In Wisconsin, you're required to ride bicycles on the road unless there's a bike lane.

Busway rail transit, cycle path is just next to them, from North Hollywood to Warner Center in Woodland Hills.

TrippLA, it's nice to see bike path on that picture, it look liek it is more safe than on the street beside of cars.

I don't know about that. Last night we bought 11 8-ft. 2x4s, gardening supplies, and groceries. I can't imagine carrying all that in a backpack. :D

Tomorrow afternoon, Hubby, two grandsons, and I go bowling. I can't imagine carrying our bowling bags on our backs!

Yea, it's not good idea, car is much better.
 
Few years ago, my hubby got knock down by a double decker bus in Dublin City. He was so lucky. Not a scratch on him. This is not the first time he got knock down by a double decker bus. That his 3rd time and he came away with bruises. The bus driver couldn't believe his eyes when he walk away without a scratch. He was cycling to school so he had to go through the city. Dublin city get very busy before 9am. It was so busy and he was late for school. He tried to turn to go left and didn't see the bus. The bus hit him and he fell off the bike. He got up and said he was alrite and walk to school. His bike was crutch under the double decker bus. He wouldn't let the bus driver gets help. Stubborn he is!!! Now, he doesn't ride a bike anymore!! My daughter have a bike, he is so nervous when my daughter ride the bike on the road. He watch her like a hawk and tell her to be careful!!
