Services for blind and deaf children in Telford have been dealt a hammer blow after the theft of thousands of pounds worth of specialist equipment.
The raid on the Sensory Inclusion Service in Wellington has left staff unable to fit youngsters with hearing aids, as well as bringing other important activities to a standstill.
The centre was targeted by thieves sometime over the weekend and discovered by staff on Monday morning.
It is estimated that tens of thousands of pounds worth of equipment to help children with hearing and visual impairments was stolen along with hundreds of pounds of cash - some of which was money donated towards running costs.
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating this matter and would appeal to anyone with any information to contact us."
