Broken Keyboard

I'm bored with the old fashioned tan and gray that came with my computer from Gateway. I'm going to have the body in black, keys in red, and characters/labels in white. :)

I would have just gone out and bought another keyboard....you can get them cheap...
Nah, I like my keyboard. I've had this keyboard (along with the computer) since September 2001. :)

VamPyroX: Damn it, my cream got into my keyboard. I have to clean it all over again...
Hahaha... very funny.

I'm not messy. I don't go spanking the monkey like a wild maniac spraying all over the place. ;)

Wonder how do u clean the keyboard ? I usually
use the rubbing alcohol and cotton swab.
I just used Q-tips, water, and paper towel. After taking the whole thing apart, it was all exposed. I could see the dust and everything. So, I just blew off all the dust. Then, I used Q-tip to clean between the spots. Then I used a paper towel to clean off each key. At the end, it's all clean. :)

Ooops I did NOT mean cotton swab... I actually
meant Q-tip myself... Sigh.

Rubbing alcohol has been very helpful.

I have a friend who went through 3 keyboards because she was always spilling things like soda, milk, etc.

I treat my keyboard like I treat my Sidekick II. If I'm eating with my hands, I don't use the keyboard... especially pizza or buffalo wings.

I did use an air spray once at the beginning of 2004. It cleaned out most of the dust. However, since it's humid... there's moistness in the air and several keys get easily dirty. These keys are the wide keys such as space bar, shift, return, backspace, etc. Those keys use metal bars on the bottom to balance the whole key. Those got dirty the most.

My mother spilled her coffee on my good keyboard and I tried clean it up but it's broken. There's no more keyboard in stock like it. I kept it for few years before decided had it throw away in garbage dump.

So, no drinks or food on computer desk.

*edit*
There's washable, waterproof keyboards available for messy computer users.

Ahhh, Here's your solution..

NO MORE DRINKS OR FOODS NEARBY YOUR KEYBOARD.. making your keyboard will come sticky and dirt dusty inside coming from your foods or drinks...

You have to learn stay away keyboard from your foods! :D
:deal: lol

I've been there and knew coming from foods inside my keyboard.. Pretty interesting... Once a week, Every time I clean the keyboard inside out of dust... or explain you later when I meet you in person..
you'll understand I'm trying to say..
Shame on me :giggle:

I finally took apart my keyboard tonight and cleaned it all up.
Yay Yay the keys are functioning much better now!

You just saved $$. Neat work! My keyboard is probably full of cat hairs underneath right now and it needs to be cleaned. I'll probably just use Miele vacuum and let it suck 'em up. :D

What did you find when you were cleaning it? a pieces of corn? maybe your broken nail?

Yeah, those are the indestructible keyboards. You can get those for as low as $20. I'm thinking about getting one too. ;)
