Boy's ignored 911 call leads to charges

That's right. Just because you are union doesn't mean you WON'T get fired. You can still get fired.

I know where Pete is coming from. I was just reading a story on bad teachers and how it is hard to get them fired. Teachers that are no good teaching and then the school board has to go through the firing process. By the time all of the legal fees are added up, it can cost millions to fire a bad teacher...so its easier to move them from school to school to teach your kids. So, Pete is correct when it comes to some unionized government workers, but I don't think the union will do much for these dispatchers.

Geeze that's sad, I agree that they should take ALL 911 calls no matter whether it's a prank or not....Such a shame that this happened to this little boy's mother

In My Opinion, Those 2 operators should have take the responsibilty to act professionally when taking a 911 call. It doesn't matter how many prank calls they get through the day. Their job is supposed to be sending the police, fire department and EMT to the location to check the situation out. If it was really a prank, then that's fine at least someone was there to check it out and the Adult could get fined for a prank call. So this one was pretty much absurd to see this happening. The little boy was doing exactly what he was taught to do in case of an emergency rises. It saddens me to see that the dispatcher has came to that point to think the boy was making a prank call.
I agree with you totally. It saddness me too what's worst the mother died because no police, no EMT was send over to the house.

Wow, I never thought this could happen. I have heard of many little children saving someone's lives, and it's really confusing how they can take it like it was a joke. Where are their brains? They boy said she passed out. How is that a joke?!

Pray for the little boy.

I feel bad for the little boy to lose his mother due to 911 dispatchers not taking his call seriously :(
