Agreed. I have problems with using my Ameriphone Q90-D with Motorola V710 and my cell phone will not stay in analog after hang up or 10 minutes of inactivity. Besides, why carry 2 devices?Gemtun said:Take my advice .....

What if you need to make a 911 emergency call if you don't have a TTY machine?

In this video, I show you a newly developed device that could become a precursor to a bluetooth enabled TTY.

LinuxGold said:Thanks all for USEFUL and INTENSIVE information! And no, TTY is NOT yet obsolete -- NOT everyone have video/phone -- for instance a lot of country areas are not yet developed for high speed connections (if they do, sometimes will require 400 dollars deposit and 100 dollars monthly bills) and Internet is not ready for 911 calls (911 calls are "wheeled" to a local emergency services through local machines dialed in by land line phones not Internet where they are dynamically re-routed everywhere.)

Can you please translate the sign language into spoken English (text)? That way I can understand it. And the video isn't high quality!Nesmuth said:TTY's obsolete?

I have a question. Since if I'm at home and in case of an emergency, could I dial 911 even though I have no landline service? My mom and dad didn't sign up for landline service since my parents replace them with cell phones.LuciaDisturbed said:The only reason I even have a tty and a landline is in case of emergencies.
