Lists aside, I find this very troubling. Why is it this way? Is the Democratic party the only home of the non-whites?

Yes, it's progress when it comes to them recognizing that less govt, less spending, greater accountability, strong on national defense, freedom, more control to the states and such are important issues. Too bad Clinton had to push Meek out of the way to stump for Crist the flopper in Florida near the end only to at the last minute stump for Meek. Sad story, really.

Are you saying that Blacks as a group tend to be not in favor of the bolded area of your statement?

Did you already forget Marco Rubio, too? He's a rising star. A classic case where his grandparents were Cuban exiles escaped to America and found the American dream by working hard to give their children a better shot at life. One of their adult children give birth to Rubio, now known as the Hispanic conservative Republican.

It's about values here. Either they get it or they don't.

Depends on their own values, philosophy and beliefs whether it would be compatible with that of the conservative Republicans'.

I find it troubling that people join a party known for its past KKK and slavery affiliation.

Why are most blacks in America Democrats?

You will have to answer that question yourself. After reading this book, you will understand that:

for over 150 years, blacks were victims of terrorist attacks by the Democrats and their Klan supporters, including lynching, beating, rapes and mutilations

On the issue of slavery, the Democrats literally gave their lives to expand it; the Republicans gave their lives to ban it.

Many believed the Democrats had a change of heart and fell in love with blacks. To the contrary, history reveals the democrats didn't fall in love with black folks, they fell in love with the black vote knowing this would be their ticket into the white house

This scenario you just painted sounds an awful lot like the countless Hispanics that jump the fences.

Aren't you glad I linked you to the Black Republican website?
Some people prefer to stay were they feel welcome. We can play the shell game here, like we do so many times. Feel free to avoid giving direct answers. Just post links, graphs, and articles written by others. :giggle:

For those scoring at home, the ratio since 1970 (I may have miscounted by one or two) is 81 Democratic Blacks, and since last night, now 4 Republican Blacks. They doubled the numbers overnight. What amazing progress shown.

The black republicans will win if their district is mostly conservative like Reba's district.

Not quite. You see, they were in Mexico. Mexico didn't bother helping them. In fact, the Mexican govt encouraged them to jump the fence so that money collected on the other side would be sent back to Mexico to their families as a way to help Mexico's own economy. Some $12 to $14 billion dollars are returned back to Mexico each year. And it's not just Mexico, it's other countries in Central America that allow these things to happen. But funnily enough, at the southern border of Mexico with Guatemala and Belize are they extremely vigilant in sending illegal aliens back to their own countries.

As for Cuba, anybody who would get caught leaving would face prison and most likely execution. Or in many cases shot on sight a la the Berlin Wall scenario we're so familiar.

Read and learn the history of Cuba's repression.

You'd have to read "Unfounded Loyalty" to understand why.

So are Blacks more forgiving? Are they just misinformed? What gives when the numbers show a 20 - 1 difference? What if we had this discussion a week ago, when those numbers were 40 - 1?

Sounds pretty similar, if you think about it. Perhaps the reason these Mexicans jump over is because life in a lot of Mexico feels like a prison sentence. If this guy was a Liberal, you would want him deported. Instead, you use him as "proof" that Republican party is not biased towards whites, same as these Blacks that won last night.

Now the math imp in me wants to add more data, mined from my own mind.

Since 1970, on average:
Every year two Black Democrats are elected.
Every decade, one Black Republican is elected.

Personally, I would see if you can get this thread deleted before it is too late. :cool2:

Not quite. One country encourages Mexicans to cross the border illegally while another country like Cuba does not with threat of imprisonment or execution. Mexico isn't a repressive regime but Cuba is. Heck, Mexico is 2nd largest oil exporter to the United States beating out Saudi Arabia as number 3. And yet Mexico is like a "prison"? More like poor planning on what to do with all that money selling oil to the United States. Not to mention the numerous American industries inside of Mexico helping create jobs there. Mexico doesn't have an excuse, Cuba does when it comes to freedom from a repressive regime.
