Bethany victim, police use Facebook to find attackers
Bethany victim, police use Facebook to find attackers - Oklahoma City - OKC - KOCO.com

BETHANY, Okla. —A Bethany man and police used Facebook to find four attackers after the victim said he was assaulted, robbed, and run over.

The man told officers a 2004 Ford Explorer pulled up to his Bethany home and the people inside asked for directions Jan. 4.

According to police, three men and one woman then dragged the victim into the car and began punching him, while speeding off. The car dragged the man a short distance before he was run over.

The suspects stole over $900 cash, prescription medication, and the man's glasses, police said. The man told investigators that he overheard one of the suspects call the driver by his name and, after he was released from the hospital, the man found the suspects on Facebook.

According to police, one of the suspects, Duke Tran, 21, was wearing a pair of glasses that were left at the scene. Detectives later noticed Tran was wearing the same pair of glasses in his Facebook picture.

Jordan Nicole Ash, 21, Duke Tran, 21, Gage M. Browning, 20, and Maksim D. Slobodkin, 23, were arrested on complaints of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

The Ford Explorer belonged to Ash, who worked at an Oklahoma City hair salon, police said.

Bond for all four has been set at $27,500.

Now I can see why a 66 years old guy pulled out gun on a group of teenagers that pulled in asking for directions. Remember that one?

We do not build properly for home security, or apartment security. It is one of my pet peeves.
There are quite a number of simple things that can be done to make it a whole lot safer world for people at home.

No one should have to open a door for a stranger. That is the bottom line.

All of this is simply a matter of design.
