More than 200 Bank of America employees received layoff notices Wednesday.

About 230 workers in the mortgage loan fulfillment center at 901 George Washington Blvd. will join another 90 or so employees who were laid off in June. The center handles new consumer mortgages and refinancing.

"As we had talked about earlier in the summer, it's really a result of... consumer demand for mortgages across the industry dropping," said spokeswoman Julie Davis, who is based in Atlanta.

"Most folks who were going to refinance have already done so," Davis said.

"We're having to scale back our operations to meet current and anticipated customer demand."

She said year-to-date mortgage originations for the bank are $69.2 billion. Last year was a record year at $131 billion.

I wonder when will Bushies finally see the reality that Bush's economy destroy their dreams & lives? When? Good thing that we, democrats already prepare for the harsh reality...

Are you blaming Bush for this ? If not,
then who are you blaming against for
this bank layoffs ?

Yes I do. That is pretty obvious.

Evidence: http://www.academycomputerservice.com/economics/charts.htm

There are plenty evidences that Bush caused many layoffs because of his economy politics. Rich people gets richer, poor people gets poorer. Now, on Bush's second term, we definitely will see the worse economy in the america history.

In fact, 80% of world and approx 50% of america already see the obvious effect but sad thing that only Bushies does not. After all, they are faith-based community, not reality-based community like us *shrugs* oh well.

Edit: Oh btw, 20 - 30% republicans are jumping off their platform and support Kerry because of Bush's poor economy. That's their biggest reason why they did that.
