AOL and Yahoo will charge their customers for weeding out the spams and anti-virus on their emails. They will be added on their service soon. It will be one cent per email if you opt for the spam service.

It may not a big deal for you, but remember the gas prices used to be cheap a couple of years ago. It will be dreadful for you to pay that spam service if they charge you $1 per email someday - who knows.

You have to think about switching an ISP service before they formally charge you for the fee.

Yeah? They are greedy. I will have to find one that is Christian and is a good e-mail service, very conservative.

It was in the newspaper. I haven't look up on the internet. The newspaper writer's name is Dan Goodin, associated press. The spokesman's name is Nicholas Graham. I think that we will see the news online coming up soon.

I remember there were a few deaf related websites using Yahoo's email system to send out updates and stuff. I'm pretty sure they used opt-in email addresses, and I wonder if Yahoo or AOL would consider that as spam?

You obviously didn't read the article. They aren't charging YOU, the user. They are charging COMPANIES to guarantee that their emails will not be diverted to your spam folder. However, those companies don't have to pay and can continue sending emails that MAY end up in your spam folder.

What I can't figure out is how you jumped to the conclusion that USERS would get charged. I mean, geez, I don't pay for Yahoo, how are they going to charge me $0.01 per email? They don't have my financial info, my credit card, my social security number.

You made a good point !! When I register Yahoo email. I did not put my dob or resident address. They do not need to know about my identify.

All emails are evil! You'll never find a good christian email. If you did, you would be supporting propaganda. ;)

Yes it's true. Theyre looking into certification services. And Alex you beat me to it telling everyone about it.

Richard - I have been a bit worried about this since you mentioned it in our newsletter. Scroll up - it turns ut you do not have to pay - you just can't guarantee that your e-mails will not go to user's spam folders. Your AOL users (like me) simply need to mark your sending address as an allowed sender and problem solved - you do not have to pay.

Please also know that your newsletters are NOT the kind of e-mail AOL or Yahoo is trying to filter. Your subscribers asked to be signed up, so they are not unsolicited.

Just continually remind your AOL and Yahoo subscribers to mark you as an approved sender and the e-mails should come through just fine.
