A woman brought her baby in to see the doctor, and he determined right
away the baby had an earache.

He wrote a prescription for eardrops. In the directions he wrote, "Put
two drops in right ear every four hours" and he abbreviated "right" as
an R with a circle around it.

Several days passed, and the woman returned with her baby, complaining
that the baby still had an earache, and his little behind was getting
really greasy with all those drops of oil.

The doctor looked at the bottle of eardrops and sure enough, the
pharmacist had typed the following instructions on the label:

"Put two drops in R ear every four hours."

It could happen to anyone. If they did not write it clear enough Like "Right" Instead of R they would think it is Rear insead of R Ear as Right Ear.

There are Some People who cannot read Clearly, or understand what the prescription meant :P

I was taking class years ago and the teacher brought up the topic of doctors. He said that out of all signatures, doctors have the worse. They said that was the reason why many people get away with behind-the-counter drugs cuz the fake signatures. Now, they are more strict by making phone calls. However, the signatures are still messy. Ugh!

:werd: My mother works in a hospital as a registrated nurse and everybody at her work would tease me when I was a little girl (even up to today) that I would become a doctor because my signature is totally incoherent... (thinking about the nice & fat paycheck if i work as a doctor) hmm.. I could try it out-- at least I got my signature all ready! ;)

Oh my!!! That poor baby! Thank god I did not do that to my boys when they had ear infections. :laugh2:
