Does anyone know? I get a wide range in my google search.

The average is five years, but many people go beyond that.

Whew! Beowulf, you scared me there for a minute. When I first started reading this thread, I thought you were referring to yourself.

I am soooooo glad that I was wrong. Don't scare me like that. :aw:

Damn. I know a terp in Charlotte NC who's on it. I have known her for five years. She doesn't look like she's at the death door. She's diabetic and I'm trying to keep my sugars under control and blood pressure so I don't have my kidney disease progress beyond mild with no syntoms other than I'm passing proteins in my urine.

As for bin Laden, Snopes hasn't determined that he had renal disease. The body must be examined for sign of it. The status at Snopes is undetermined. There are rumors that he did have kidney stones but not renal disease.

He was so rich, he could just have bought one and had a transplant at his hideout.

Awwww, got you going, huh? At least you won't need another vacation awhile. ;)

I seriously doubt we will ever know. The body was looked over for definite signs that it was OBL and then immediately buried at sea. I don't think they went into great detail about his state of health other than COD was gunshot wound to the head.
