A long time ago around eight years old my father wanted to teach me how to swim. First I thought awesome and piece of cake but when the time arrived I started think it was scary. Every day I improved a little. My father became impatient and said, “You have to swim under my legs by the end of today.” I said, “I’m too scared. So no I won’t.” He said, “Okay we will be here all day.” For an hour I tried but then I began to cry. It came to mind to my father that he could use coins for me to pick up. He put quarters on the bottom of the pool and I forgot about being scared. Although not always the best solution bribing your kids with money is an alternative to give them motivation to do what you want.
