Bottesini; said:Thanks for your answer!...
Your very welcome Bottesini, my pleasure.I keep up with DEAF culture, education, events, news and be with great people here at ALL DEAF.
The 'why' I started ask DreamsFloat Joe anything thread now is due to several reasons:
I did not see an active thread.
I, as a volunteer get asked to speak at many different varied activities and in front of large groups of people, at times. If, I know one person in the room is DEAF, I sign ASL as I use my voice. I always ask the event coordinator if they know if a person who is DEAF is in the room on the day of the event.
I will be traveling all around north east Florida, south east Georgia very soon to attend a lot of different speaking engagements. Example: Next Tuesday I will be at the University of North Florida from 10 AM through 2 PM. Earlier today I was at a county group of people who are BLIND with some folks who were DEAF. I fiqured if I allowed youse folks to ask me anything, I can be better prepared to answer any question from an audience, whether it be at a school or a fund raiser event or a local group of people. So everyone asking me questions helps me to be a better speaker, I hope.

I support DEAF awareness.
I suspect we are shouting because the nice thing about living in a little community is that even though I have no idea what I'm doing, everyone else does.Bottesini; said:...I am DEAF and LOW VISION. Why are we SHOUTING?
