Ask DreamsFloat Joe Anything ...

Thanks for your answer!...
 Your very welcome Bottesini, my pleasure.

I keep up with DEAF culture, education, events, news and be with great people here at ALL DEAF.

The 'why' I started ask DreamsFloat Joe anything thread now is due to several reasons:

I did not see an active thread.

I, as a volunteer get asked to speak at many different varied activities and in front of large groups of people, at times. If, I know one person in the room is DEAF, I sign ASL as I use my voice. I always ask the event coordinator if they know if a person who is DEAF is in the room on the day of the event.

I will be traveling all around north east Florida, south east Georgia very soon to attend a lot of different speaking engagements. Example: Next Tuesday I will be at the University of North Florida from 10 AM through 2 PM. Earlier today I was at a county group of people who are BLIND with some folks who were DEAF. I fiqured if I allowed youse folks to ask me anything, I can be better prepared to answer any question from an audience, whether it be at a school or a fund raiser event or a local group of people. So everyone asking me questions helps me to be a better speaker, I hope. :laugh2:

I support DEAF awareness.

...I am DEAF and LOW VISION. Why are we SHOUTING?
I suspect we are shouting because the nice thing about living in a little community is that even though I have no idea what I'm doing, everyone else does.

So what is your typical day like?
I plan my day, not the outcome.

Upon awakening I get my exercise in by dashing to the bathroom, then I sprint to the coffe pot. Exercise all done for the day. In the morning, I head to the beach to watch the sunrise, sometimes my mutts take me for a walk. Then I head to the boat docks at the north end of the island, then I head to the docks in town on our harbor. I check on Ye Ole Pirate and keep her clean. I get some coffee at Seattle's Best, cause it has free wi fi. If, the seas and weather permit I go fishing, whether it be surf, pier or boat fishing. If, I am traveling in the AM, then I go to the beach, harbor and marina in the early evening. For me, I really enjoy meeting people and being around or on the ocean. Something relaxing and spiritual about it. I have know words to describe these feelings. On Tuesday's I have to put the trash and recycle cans out in the morning and then I have to bring them back from the curb in the late afternoon. None of my days are typical. Most days are full of romantic, fun, silly, great new adventures and meeting great people. The unknown of what lies beneath the sea. It's all fun and fantastic to me. I love living here and I enjoy it all I can. It's all very humbling and so rewarding. In other words, I do my best to share all my milk and cookies. :giggle:

Below is a link to a short video about where I live, it is by ABC News and you have to watch a quick advertisement first. NO CC, dang it:
