(MODS/ADMINS: if you can copy and paste the posts regarding Arnold Schwarzenegger as California's Governor, it will be appreciated because I started out my thread with a main message and a SMALL side note about Arnold *my mistake* and it seemed people want to elaborate on Arnold so that is what this thead is for!]

Jazzy said in YOUTH VOTES: My husband's workman comp was cut off because of Arnold. Without Arnold, he would have gone thru another surgery and might be well enough to go back to his job by now but now he has to wait for long time, stuck and deal with extremely pain. Arnold already put alot of people out of jobs.

Prehaps it was Governor Davis' actions? When Schwarzenegger took over, he had to let some running by because it was already approved by Davis before the throwout occurred. BUt nevertheless I am sorry for the hardships upon you and your husband

Magastu said: Now, a question is why do I want to vote for Arnold? He is the possibly worse governor ever in California history. He recently closed the state park depts down and plan to market these state parks to highest bids for drilling or whatever.
Says who? Arnold did approve of Sierra Nevada Conservancy... to PRESERVE the wildlife and nature... Hmm I don't see any drills like you said!

Schwarzenegger is a Republican but his agenda is more Democratic even tho he did make some remarks degrading the Democratic party ("Girlie Men", yak yak...) he is for environments and he doesn't disapprove the idea of gay marraiges but he had to vote against because of his party's pressures. Remember him when he remarked upon the marriages taken place at San Fransicso? He NEVER said that he PERSONALLY [is] against it... he was just not in favor of something that BREAKS the law... that is it. So if we CHANGE the laws to allow gay marriages, I am sure he would break out the expensive champange bottles!
(Com'on how could you be homophobic in today's MOVIE INDUSTRY!)

And last-- a small strange fact: his last name basically translates to: "black black." :D

Debate away about our governor and what kind of job he has done. So far I have no complaints about what I have seen (but of course I haven't seen ALL) but one little peeve: he is a republican. Oy vey. But I wondered if he just joined the Rep. party because the Dem. party already had Davis and they were backing him up and refused to consider Arnold so he looked to the Rep who were TOTALLY desperate to have a good candidate and wave his own "stardom" in tehir eyes... and then he got the seat and POWER to perform out his beliefs instead of his party's beliefs. I think Rep. got tricked... maybe I am wrong, maybe Arnold is a Rep. down to the core of his heart...

Interesting...

I thought he's a good Governor. I'm surprised when I read your post for a first time today. All what I heard is he's the best... :dunno:

As you say, Arnold is a fiscal Republican but a social liberal. I don't think he "tricked" the Republican party; I think they knew what they were getting. I also think that proves that a person can be a Republican without all members thinking 100 percent the same. There is variety in the Republican Party. Same as, there is variety in the Democrat Party. I am sure not all Democrats think alike all the time. :)

I am not a Republican or a Democrat, so this is just my opinion.

As a native Californian, I view him as a very liberal Republican. His wife is from the Democratic Kennedys. His views - some are startingly Republican but other views startling Democratic. He is what people call "swinger", meaning they only swing on the issues, not the whole Party.

I don't like arnold as politican but I like him as movie star. In politics, he is not friendly to democrats and he even call them "girlie men." He supports Bush and not all kennedys support Bush.

Thanks for your concern, yes it has been hard on us all and almost tear this family part because of his pain and frustrated by not able to do anything right now.

Arnold reformed workman comp policy last April, this was when real trouble start. He gave workman comp more power to do what they want with injuried workers. That is why we have a lawyer now to help us to get what my husband need, a surgery and get his job back.

Um, you are half wrong and half right. I cannot spend any more than few mins, I have few errands to do. however I have the facts to back me up... quite easily.

However I am talking about California and its environment, why are you posting about Nevada....? o_O

And I did mentioned about drilling or whatever. That's magical keyword. Whatever. It can mean anything beside drilling. As I said I don't have enough time to post more. I will do that once I come back and gather the informations. As I mentioned in other post, I never say anything or debate without hard data to back me up. That's my number one rule [edit this comments out because I despise the bragging stuffs]

At least Arnold do have some common sense to not impose his beliefs on gays or anti-abortion support groups... unfortunately for large percent of religious zealous freaks, that they possibly don't have any common sense to start with -_-

Edit: Beside the fact that Bush will screw our environment anyway... I mean, he plan to give the full rights to industries & corporates to do whatever they want to do with lands. I don't know when Bush will do that. I feel sorry for our generations who will have to deal with Bush and his fucked up policies.

I want to add the good news to this:

Media Group Seeks Schwarznegger's Records

JIM WASSERMAN

Associated Press

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Days after California voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment to make government records more available to the public, a media-backed group is asking Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to release all his appointment calendars, schedules and meeting logs since taking office last November.

The California First Amendment Coalition, a group of journalists and civic activists formed in 1988, mailed the request to Schwarzenegger on Wednesday, the day Proposition 59 became part of the state constitution.

The measure requires judges to interpret state law broadly to allow the public access to state and local government documents and meetings. With no organized opposition, it passed with 83 percent support on Tuesday.

An aide to the governor said the Schwarzenegger administration had not seen the letter Friday and had no immediate comment.

The request requires a response from the governor within 10 days. A denial of the request by the governor could lead to lawsuits.

CFAC Executive Director Peter Scheer said the request "will be of huge interest to historians, to journalists who cover politics and the governor in Sacramento. It will be suggestive of what special interests have the governor's ear and how much access they have and what issues mean most to them."

Ohhh, we cannot wait to get rid of him out of our governor seat in 2006 if there is any 'black spot' in his records.

Let's not forget the important note on Proposition 64:

we no longer have the rights to protect the environment. No offense to anyone but I cannot believe how stupid people are when they voted "Yes" on 64.

Edit: Now I must leave.

Nature will get it's revenge. California wildfires will happen again and again and again until the developers gets it's message.

Um...? I did look up Prop 64 because I didn't recollect any prop regarding the environment... the recently passed Prop 64 was referring to the lawsuits bringing on by locals to shake down the state...
Can you elaborate on this prop 64 and how the stop-the-shakedown lawsuits are relating to protecting the environment? Prehaps this was the previous prop that numbered the same as the recent one? :dunno:

And on a SMALL side note I would like to correct you and hopefully educate you:

Look at your map for California.. Sierra Nevada moutains are between CAlifornia and Nevada. Lake Tahoe, a city IN California, is part of Sierra Nevada. Check your geography before you deicde to give one of those looks. ( "o_O" ) If you want some hard-core evidence to back up my correction, here it is: "The Sierra Nevada is a mountain range that is mostly in eastern California. The range is also known as The Sierra." source: Wikipedia.

This is a proposal on how to improve California, commissioned by Governor Schwarzenegger. Something to read on where California is failing and how to help it... this way you can keep track whether Schwarzenegger is following this commitee's advices or not. :)
