Arkansas girl battles brain-eating amoeba

Well, in public pool, they need lifeguard to patrol. I'm surprised about some pools and beaches (especially Panama City Beach, Destin) don't have lifeguard on duty.

I believe there was lifeguard at the pool. I had my daughter take swimming lessons at the 'Y' and the kids had some free time at the end. The swimming teacher got out of the pool to made a phone call and all the mothers where sitting there in shock. I got up and went into the office and told the guy he needed to get off the phone and back in the pool and he did. I was shocked that no others mothers came with me, they just rather sit on their asses and whine about there being no one in the pool with their kids. Maybe the mothers had a brain eating amoeba in their heads. People need to speak up if they do not like what is happen. I once call my state rep to voice my concern about something and the woman I spoke said if more people called it would help.

I heard that on news that 12 years old girl got in hospital but her family and friend still praying for her and good news she woke! the pool already close for seasons news says but im hope she will get better soon im pray for that..

I'm not sure if they have it up there where the winters are colder.

Found this map, interesting about MN

Not a surprise considering how many lakes Minnesota have.

My thoughts are with that girl. I hope she is improving for better of it.
