Apple to end 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro production

It is reasonable price for one and ONLY Macintosh own RETINA. If Samsung, Sony, and other brands develop something better than retina, then macbook+retina price will go down dramatically.
 
It's good news. Why? Demand will meet and the tech become much cheap. Other good... retina display are PERFECT for usher syndrome that able to see clear than LCD which look like screen to them.

True. My co-worker who is usher syndrome asked me will Apple develop Retina HDTV? I told her if there is one, it'll be in my living room by now. :lol: Do you know anything about apple planned retina hdtv?

The people with Usher Syndrome is progressive and different in person to person.

I have Usher Syndrome Type II and I have 20/30 in combined (right eye is bad, left eye is good) but I lost some of peripheral vision due to Usher Syndrome, along with moderate night blindness.

I can read LCD without need retina.
 
Apple will discontinue the old products if customers stop buying them and the price of Retina MacBook Pro should drop eventually to $1,199 - same as regular MacBook Pro.

Do you notice about Apple still selling iPad 2 because customers still buying them, that why.
 
Prices tend to be based on the supply vs. demand model. Even though Apple products, such as the Mac, may be costly, but they last way longer than Windows-based PCs. Macs are less susceptible to viruses, have a stronger encryption methods, and run applications more efficiently.

Apple is trying to capitalize on retina-based devices since it is in demand for it is the newest thing on the block.

Clarity, that person can read only text but cannot see the photo on LCD monitor.

No, it is depends on person to person.

Usher Syndrome ONLY affect peripheral vision.

I can see photos without retina monitor.

Type I and Type II are same for peripheral vision, but Type I degrade so faster and could become legally blind so earlier and Type II is more slower.

Your definition is actually late stage of Usher Syndrome that where almost all peripheral vision is gone and central vision is affected. The degrade of central vision that lead to total blindness is rare.

RETINA is best, that's why I have retina on my iMac ;)
 
I really like 13" Retina MacBook Pro w/ 1 TB Flash storage, 16 GB memory and 2.8 GHz dual-core Intel Core processor but too expensive over $2,700. I still keep my 13" MacBook Pro (late 2011) w/ 750 GB hard drive, 16 GB memory and 2.8 GHz Intel Core. It s excellent condition.
