soooo.... does this mean my sister can cover her best friend even though they can't legally get married. they are straight, and they love men, but yet hate making a commitment with them (don't trust them because they think their brain is down inside their pants).
I would be very happy to cover for my outside family members. I don't think sex should prevent people from getting benefits they need (that is, you are straight and don't want the "marriage" term just to get benefits) Personally, my religious belief don't acknowledge same sex marriage ( It's like how you see soap opera marriage, you know they are not truly married in real life... except in my case, I don't see them as married in religious life. All through the bible, it had one man and one woman marriage. The whole bible speaks about marriage. Other than that, I do see them was two people who want to take of each other and love each other)
btw, I don't think the military should be asking about their sexual preference, and they don't need to volunteer information to the military either.
Just like they don't volunteer information about their sex life with unless it is a problem IN the military (sexual harassment and such). I also don't think people should be kicked out because the personal conversations they had with people just like how people talk about their religious beliefs.
