Hi. Does anyone have subscribed to Verizon DSL/Phone Service? My another question I have is, do any of you live in any 14 out of 50 states?

  • California
  • Florida
  • Idaho
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Michigan
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • South Carolina
  • Texas
  • Virginia
  • Washington

It's available in Florida, but since I live in Tallahassee, Verizon Plus store isn't available here.

Have a look at Verizon One website:
http://www22.verizon.com/verizon-one/

Verizon Plus Store Locator
(Formerly Verizon PhoneMart)

My comments: I really doubt Verizon One has support for TTY, but I'm not very sure about that... So I just thought I'd ask. I know that Lormar Logic allows me to do instant TTY-to-TTY calling, but I can't get a personal phone number from Lormar Logic since My IP Relay allows you to get a personal phone number, but the problem with My IP Relay is they only accept voice calls, so those who call my phone number through their own TTY won't go through to call me, as far as I know.

About Verizon One, I really think it looked nice and sleek and I thought it'd be cool to connect my own TTY to Verizon One, so I can do TTY-to-TTY calling and receive TTY calls over Verizon One that they can't dial my My IP Relay phone number.

Ahhh...got caught up with all those ads on television? "Can you hear me now?" ..then the guy moves to another spot and repeats the same question again...over and over.

So, you're kind of interested in this--hope it works out if you choose to try it. ;)

I'm not subscribed to any phone service.

The only phone service I have is T-Mobile for my Sidekick II. :)

Well I'm talking about Verizon One, that integrates a phone and DSL into one. It's got a touch screen, too.

I think this is just a fancy phone with a DSL modem/ wifi router built in. I think you're incorrectly assuming it's VoIP. The "Verizon One" looks like it's just a phone, not VoIP phone service.

It should be compatible with a TTY, it may have another phone jack for aditional phones (but might night) which you could plug a TTY into, or you could use a coupler but not sure how well that works on a cordless phone, maybe using the headset jack? (I've not ever seen a modern cordless phone without one)

BAH!! maybe your area is an exception but where I live ATT/SBC DSL is NOT cheaper than cable (sunflower broadband where I live). The cost for DSL itself is less than the cost of cable internet itself, but the stupid phone company forces me to get "landline" phone service that I never use and never will use. that adds an extra $20 a month, plus taxes and fees for something I never use.
I'd have cable internet but the wireing in my building is too crappy.

In many places it's cheaper to get cable internet and a VoIP phone service like packet8.

OK. I have a direct-connect TTY, Ameriphone Q90-D Portable TTY. I don't want to assume that this phone capability is a VoIP Phone, with support for VoIP, but if it is a VoIP phone, then it's not fully compatible with TTY. Thus I'm not trying to assume that Verizon One is a VoIP phone.

it is not voip it should data port to plug in computer modem, fax or tty

Oh cool. It's nice to be able to use touchscreen and I really like the user interface in Verizon One. In the middle to the end of the video, there's a phone with a screen and it looks a bit similar to Verizon One, but shouldn't be compaired to Verizon One, since Verizon One is a DSL/Wireless/Router but the phone with a large screen is only a phone, but it kinda got me wondered if it's a VoIP phone or not...

Interesting... I am sure depend on which area and which company's price...
