of course, this would be true, but accuracy is still a big problem, inaccuracy isn't going to help sign language awareness, more to point, it would downgrade the authenticity of sign to mere pantomime, which is undesirable, and this is a real threat of the Deaf community's efforts in sign language promotion, because it encourages the abuse of sign language to the general unknowing public.

Book is a real threat to Deaf community's efforts in sign language promotion? Hardly. I think these are unfounded fears and paranoia in the making. You're talking about an extremely small minority of people who end up maligning certain signs compared to an ongoing and continuing growth of population of people learning sign language in courses, schools and from their friends and families. These books aren't best sellers by any stretch of the imagination.
