Anyone recall a Movie called 'The Richest man in Bogota'

Lee Marvin was in the movie and he found a village where everyone was blind but him. I have not seen this movie in years , but I do recall at the end of the movie Lee Mavin was blind too.

I remember hearing a similar story when I was in elementary school. It was one of those weird "reverse handicap adjustment" stories.
