Several years ago my stepmother had her car hit on the driver's door side, and she got a hip fracture. She didn't have any surgery either, but she had to have a lot of rehab, and it took a long time to heal.

I am sorry you are not feeling well.

She probably has a small crack that is not out of place as shown by x-ray.

It is not the same bone but when I was 13 I sat down on a concrete floor. Will never know for sure if I missed the chair, it slipped or if another kid pulled the chair. All the doctor had me do was come by for some extra heat treatments and I had to move slower for awhile. Don't remember mention of it being broken. Then a good 30 years later a doctor was doing a rectal exam and made the comment of Oh you have had a broken tail bone. So . . . it evidently left enough of something to feel.

Wow Jane b that's wild still waiting for the doctors call me back to come In...

Yep! The only way I got reminded of it over the years actually helps my posture. It occurred more as a kid because then we would sit around on the gym floor against the wall during part of PE. I had to sit up straight rather than slump down against the wall or it would hurt a bit.

Sure hope I am not speaking tooooo soon but at a couple months shy of 70 it is the only bone I have ever broken. Sure hope it stays that way!

The one and only time that I fainted, I fell on my tailbone and "came to" just before my head hit the floor, thank goodness. One or two weeks later, I bowled my first 200 game. I figured it was due to the sore tailbone.
