I know that right now there's really nothing that I can do with my friend Dani (see the confused as hell post in The Closet) but I did get a free tarot reading about it.....and I am kinda ambigious about tarot readings and stuff like that....but on the other hand the reading that I got has made me thingk...anyone else got a story or anything?
The question is: I've had a crush on my friend Danielle for a year or
so. We were very good friends until this semester. As far as I know,
Dani saw me as a good friend, and was not aware that I liked her. (and I
was extremely confused about that, since I knew she was straight)
However in the past few weeks she found out or realized that I had a crush on
her. The college psycologist called me and told me that she knew all
about this incident and that Dani was very uncomfortable with the whole
sitution and did not want to be my friend any more. I have not spoken to
Dani in a month and am terrifed about contacting her. Yet at the same
time, this whole sitution has devastated me to put it very mildly. I am
over my crush. I understand Dani's reaction, but am devestated at the
loss of one of my best friends. I am so scared that Dani and I will
never be friends again because of what happened. I am scared to contact
anyone (eg her, mutal friends etc) but I want to know if Dani and I will
ever be friends again. I miss her so much.

Hi
Welcome to the Free Tarot Network. My name is Alcyone and it's my
pleasure to read for you. I am providing you with a one-card reading for the
question I have posed for you, "What do I need to do to restart a
friendship with Dani?"

I use the Robin Wood Tarot. After concentrating on your question and
asking the Universe to provide a clear and concise answer, I pulled the
card of the Three of Pentacles, reversed. The card in this deck shows
the image of a man working on a sculpture or wall decoration of some sort
that involves gold, colors, Celtic knots and feathers. The man works
without interference on his own design in his own fashion and time frame.
Draped through the middle of his work are three golden pentacles. You
can see this card at http://lighthouse.ncf.ca/robin/3_of_pents.jpg
Robin Wood; Used with Permission)

The Threes of any suit represent the first stage of a process
completed. Obviously you have put a lot of effort into this friendship - you
have actually made an "investment" of time and energy with Dani. You're
still feeding a lot of emotional effort into the situation.

The Three of Pentacles confirms that you have laid down the foundation
necessary to achieve your goal. What is required now is persistence,
time and patience. The message of the Three of Pentacles is that
consistent effort will bring fulfillment and success - however, this Three of
Pentacles came up reversed (upside down). This would indicate blocks or
delays are currently in the way of achieving your goal, but it does not
mean your goal is not achievable. It just means that it may take more
time and/or persistence to get what you want.

Let's talk about what's going on for a moment beyond the cards. You
probably scared Dani. You are both pretty young. My intuition tells me
that she's never had a friendship before with a woman who wasn't straight.
So now she doesn't really know what to do. She doesn't know if it's
"ok" to resume her friendship with you because you've shaken up her
comfort zone. There's also the chance that you have stirred up unexplored
feelings in her, but my intuition tells me that's probably not it. She's
just confused.

I know nothing about this college psychologist, but it seems to me that
if she were doing her job she would try to get this friendship back on
track. It feels to me that the friendship is perhaps a little bent, but
not broken. My counsel to you (as a completely objective, yet older,
outsider) is that you should try to talk to Dani. Find a public situation
(where she may feel more comfortable for now) such as going for coffee
and explain things to her. Give her space, give her time - but you
should have your say. I wouldn't go through mutual friends, that's too
"high school". As a grownup you should handle this like a grown-up. If Dani
can't get past her (perceived) prejudices to see that she is throwing
away a good friend (and who among us has so many friends that we can
just toss them away?) then perhaps she's not the right friend for you.

Don't push things with her - just nudge them a bit. Use humor and make
sure she knows that you no longer have sexual feelings, just
friendship, toward her. If you can get her to talk with you then you'll have made
a huge stride toward mending this friendship. I wish you the very best
of luck!

Deafdyke, you’re way too smart to believe in that horseshit. Tarot card reading employs a magician’s technique called cold reading. It’s a very old technique used by all mediums, psychics, fortune tellers, etc. It’s essentially the skilled art of blowing sunshine up somebody’s ass. A proficient operator can be amazingly deceptive—even intelligent, educated people can be fooled by their stage tricks.

I’m not trying to criticize you or belittle the problems you are experiencing with this relationship. I’m just trying to steer you away from the path of false hopes and wishful thinking. You’re a warm, witty and intelligent person, and people who have these characteristics usually are able to figure out a way to get what they want in life and to make things happen for themselves. Just give it some time and plenty of deliberate thought, and I’m everything will resolve itself the way you hope it will.

Deafdyke,
Could you clarify something? Early in your post, you mentioned a brief history of you and Dani. Did you tell this to the person reading the cards...I'm just curious as to how much background they had prior to the reading.

Nope, I don't believe in those craps!

I am sorry about your severed friendship with the girl. I have read your thread about the girl in the gay forum here some months ago. I don't think it'd help a bit if you try to get her to talk to you again. Let her whenever she is ready to talk to you again but that might not happen anytime soon but who knows. I'd advise that you move on with your life.

Yes, I know....and I don't really believe in that stuff, I was just curious about what the tarot person would say about the sitution.....I do think that there are some people out there with gifts...I've had some weird situtions with prayer and magick working in the past, so I'm not TOTALLY skeptical, and I mean virtually everyone associated with the sitution at school has said simlair stuff.......and besides, Levonian, this was a FREE reading....didn't cost me a cent, it wasn't about feeding me what I wanted to hear. I mean a couple of years ago when I was scared that I was going to be kicked out of the dorms, I had a tarot reading done, and they were right on the money, I wasn't kicked out of the dorms and even got dorm space for the next semester (and res life wasn't that eager to have me in the dorms for various and sundry reasons)

I posted the entire reading, everything I wrote and sent in for the reading. I'm being healthily skeptical......I'm not buying into this but at the same time it could be true...and if an experianced tarot reader got this reading, maybe there's hope after all. I mean, I can read tarot somewhat myself, and I was doing some readings online,(at different sites!) and the ones I did myself were eerially simalir to this reading. Who knows? Maybe there is something to this thing...I know, I don't want to get my hopes up but on the other hand, there's always a possibilty. Lev.....I believe in prayer, psychicness and other stuff....and who knows? I mean my mom once went to a psychic right after I got kicked out of the dorms....The psychic knew nothing about me, but said I was doing really well (recovered from depression) and that I'd get a new apartment. Guess what? The next semester I DID end up with my own apartment, AND in addition got back on campus!

I agree. My former sister-in-law is Greek, and she told me how several members of her family did the card readings as a scam. She herself didn't participate in "the business" but she demonstrated the technique to me.

The "counsel" that you got from the card reader didn't sound any more insightful then the suggestions you can get from AD friends.

I would be suspicious about someone suggesting you ignore your real-life college counselor for the advice of a tarot card reader. I think the card reader doesn't like professional competition.

Believe in tarot? I used to but not now. I got older and wiser.

One thing I understand, tarot did not tell you truth and it can led to obession. It can break you down.

Here is an example of my friend being gulliable. She went to see this guy who reads palms. He told her sister-in-law, she was a bad mother and person. She left him hurriedly in tears. U see pix here? The man feed my friend and her family to believe her sister-in-law is a bad person. Now they rejected her and she is not welcome in their family. His words not hands, he saw who she is and told lies to my friend and her family about her.
This is one reason I avoid those things.

As for your friend, let her go. She is not for you. You do not need her anymore. There is another one out there waiting to meet you. I know it sounds mean to u but I have a gay sister whom I love her dearly and she finally found right person after being abused by her 2 past partners. Not easy being a gay.

All I'm saying is that I'm being healthily skeptical about this. I wasn't even totally serious, I just wanted to see what an experianced tarot reader would say. I'm taking this with a grain of salt. I know many readers are fake and just in it for the money....that doesn't mean that everyone is in it for the money. I am extremely skeptical, and was just curious, as I've had enough strange things happen that my belief isn't totally suspended. There are people who do tarot for money, and then there are people who do tarot for religion or whatever.

Tarot cards are made out of papers with images on them. There's nothing more to them than that.

Though I do believe in spirituality.

True, but on the other hand....it could be sort of like a Ouija board or something...Hey statues of Jesus are made out of clay, but people get upset and stuff if they are desecreted. I dunno....I think in some cases that Tarot is legitimate.

Deafdyke, please—if you want to view tarot card reading in the context of harmless role playing, fine. But if you’re even considering giving any of these people your money, at least read this article first.

Don't bother with Ouija, you may be able to summon spirits but in some cases... you may be inviting the wrong spirits into your home. Trust me, I know. I've seen it happen to some people I know.

Even the most experienced ones would tell amateurs to avoid from getting involved with.

Banjo, are you saying that you know people who have actually witnessed malevolent spirits in their homes? And that these spirits were conjured with a Ouija board?

The Three Pentacles

Well the 3 Pentacles, 3 Rods, 3 Swords, and 3 Cups, I always think of Holy Spirit, Father, and Son. The Trinity. 3 is sort of like a holy number.

But when it is REVERSED, I guess it means UNHOLY.
So I guess it is describing the person... as gay, gay is an unholy act.

And your friend can't accept this kind of relationship.

And also... Pentacles represents the Earth sign, such as Virgo, Capricorn, and Taurus. Because Virgo is service, Capricorn is achiever, Taurus likes money.

And Swords represents the Air signs, such as Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini.
And Cups represents the Water signs, such as Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.
And Rods represents the Fire sign, such as Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo.

The date you pointed out, the person born on 9/9/1979 is Virgo.
And Pentacle represents Earth sign, Virgo. Maybe describe that person.

Reversed always mean NO.

That is my opinion. :type:

The purpose of an ouija board is to summon the spirits. In the past, I have known people who had experienced problems with malevolent spirits in their homes.... including mine.

In fact, there is more to this story. In the past, there was a woman who had some psychic abilities. One day, at a nursing home where my mother and grandmother used to work at. When this happened, my mother and grandmother already had stopped working there. A co-worker came in and told some friends of my mother's that a woman came up to her somewhere else and asked if she know of a woman by the name of Jane Doe (None of the names are real, they are changed out of respect). The co-worker answered with a yes, and was informed that there were at least 3 to 4 evil spirits in our household at the moment. The funny part is, we never met this woman nor know who she is. How would she know of what had happened in our house?

Once my mother was informed of what had been said at the nursing home regarding our home, and she was shocked and asked how did she know of this. It was true that we were having some problems with spirits in our house. In fact, I've grown up around spirits and more. The house I'm now living in is my fourth place to live at which is free of spirits as far I am concerned. Though I do get some strange vibes from time to time but nothing to worry about.

Now, about this woman. This happened at our third place and it took place around 2 years ago. She has made at least 3 different attempts to visit us, but never succeed in doing so. She always ended up having complications and problems trying to get to our house. The spirits clearly was aware of what was going on. It was very obvious what had happened, and she stopped making attempts to visit us. It may be out of fear, I believe.

But what's truly amazing is a stranger knew of our situation and went up to somebody with a connection to us.

But now, things are much, much better. I'm quite glad about it.

Yes, I have seen spirits... both good and evil. Many people cannot see them, I believe it has a lot to do with your brain and how you use it. If you use certain parts of your brain and develop your skills, you may be able to... well... see something unusual. Sure, people may think I'm a looney sometimes, but I do know that I've seen them.

A homemade Ouija board is far more dangerous compared to the $2.00 Ouija board at Wal-Mart because when you make an Ouija board, you are investing your energy into it which is something you cannot do with a store-bought ouija board.

Even white candles cannot prevent evil spirits from being summoned.
