treat a wasp sting?

i got stung by either yellow jacket or paper wasp yesterday and i knew i am allergic to bee stings but surprising the area where i got stung on didnt swollen up.

however it hurts like hell and feel like a bruise and hurts when i walk or add pressure on it. (i got stung on my left knee... just above the knee on the outside side.)

any ideas on how to treat a sting by both wasp or bee ?

i heard dry salt works but im rather sketipal on that.

This is true and it worked on my mother....

Find a wasp, kill it and pick it up sqeeze the juice out of it on to your sting and then your sting will heal... It works!

eeeeek!!!!! with hive nearby ready to attack me? NO THANK YOU! LOL any other options?

baking soda will calm your swollen and pain will go away. The swollen cause your pain more.

yea i remmy that u told me abt that.. ouch!

whenever I got stung, I just tough it out. Last time I got stung was during a camping trip in Mexico. I had a nasty hangover from partying the nite before and was barefoot when I stepped on a bee. It made me a bit woozy from the pain but it went away after an hour or two--I just ignored the pain.

The worst bee sting I ever had was when I was 9 years old and it stung me on my throat. I freaked out in the car--screamed my head off and my mom drove me to the ER. :eek2:

I am allergic to bee and wasp. Eeeek ! *runs for my life*

Ekkkkk... I am allergic to any kinds of bees... when I am stung.. I go directly to ER...

Try this one... ;) I was at a high school church camp and we were sitting around a campfire after dark. I got stung three times on my back and I just endured it until it was over. Not something I would like to repeat anytime soon. Somebody helped me afterward by putting baking soda on my back to finally sooth it. Fortunately, I'm not allergic to bee or wasp stings.

hehehe look like i have started bee/wasp sting stories now. :-D

and the irony thing was...on my desktop im seeing those 4 adversites right under the thread and they were like this..

wasp- elimainate harmful parasites info-wasp (hm useful maybe?)
bee stings- everything to do with Bee Stings (definitely useful heh)
wasp nests- bargain prices. smart deals. (huh? who would want to buy wasp nests? *snickers*)
betterbee inc- everything you need for beekeeping. Beekeeper serving beekeepers. (try say that 3 times fast lol)

the AD im talking abt is attached in pic... and i got the links... boy they were completely off the topic from what it says it was supposed to be. lol
wasp http://www.parasites.org/?a=1&kw=wasp
bee stings http://search.ebay.com/bee-sting_W0QQfkrZ1QQfnuZ1QQfsopZ1QQsatitleZbeeQ2aQ20stingQ2a
wasp nest http://www.parasites.org/?a=1&kw=wasp
betterbee inc http://www.betterbee.com/?gclid=CL_otOLFs4YCFQwjNAodA3mJQA

heh interesting :) keep stories going.

how i got stung yesterday was when i went out in open porch and sat down on a chair. i was prepared to do more drawing when i felt burn sensations on my left leg and knew immediately that i got stung cuz i have seen those flying around for a while. i went into panicked state cuz i am allergic and wasnt sure what to do so i put ice on and poked a hole then squeezed juice out which didnt go very well. i decided to wait a bit and surprisely i didnt get any swollen signs just a small bump and redish skin around it.

by the way baking soda works great!!! what a relief!
