before I start making calls to tech support - I have black screen with front camera on my conquer android but not with back camera.

Does anybody know why?

Its still on gingerbread OS, sprint network - still waiting on icecream update.
Tried battery pull- etc. I used SVRS, P3, and currently ZVRS platforms. all same issue. I am convince its a setting or something on my phone.

funny thing is I can use other applications related to camera , just not VRS use for front camera.

Try the stock camera app and press the option to switch from back camera to front. I think in GB ver 2.3.x you have to press the menu key and there will be option to "Switch Camera".

See if you get it in the camera app then you can be sure it's not your camera hardware having problems.

Looks like ZVRS has official supported for your Conquer phone. It sound weird that it would work in camera app but not ZVRS. Did you want to try reset phone to factory default? Better to back up all info first..

PS, ZVRS list has some pointless phones. Many of those phones are back camera only, don't have front...

I'm talking about file system, kernel, how OS to works, etc are very similar, even I don't see much difference between Ubuntu and Mac OS X, however Mac OS X is more easier than Ubuntu but Ubuntu is getting more easier now.

Let back on topic.

This thread is about issue with blank screen on Android so sticking with topic.

It is very unnecessary to say.

Android is good OS, it is based on UNIX as Mac OS X and iOS.

you got it. i used unix way back in 1988..on a minicomputer (small scale mainframe) programming in Cobol....well it was around alot longer, and Linux just came out about that time, not sure exactly when but Linux Torveld (from Sweden) did is, hence its called Linux (mixing his name and UNIX)...

Linus made unix into a highly compressed form, in to a core, (thats the kernal), portable and the idea is to be able to to run on stand alone PCs nothing more...then it went from there....
