ancestry.com has free access this weekend

So, I'm wondering, for non-American and European ancestry, is it possible for us to find our family trees or something (maybe one of those DNA testing agencies?)

I do...I was sooo shocked and speechless when you mentioned that you found more family generation dating back as far as to 991 A.D.!!! How is that possible!!! I was told that Erik the Red is one of my ancestors....yikes.

Who says this? I could go further back to 1736 BC. You know the churches keep records.

Yeah, not to mention that I sorta forced, I mean pushedly my bf few years ago to research his true ancestors...so finally he recently did. He was so shocked to learn that he's also part of Spanish. He got so upset that he's part of it....I told him don't jump to the wrong conclsion...Spanish doesn't mean coming from PR, DR or South America. Spain is still white European -- non-Hispanic White ethnic. Lol.

haha. .. My mom and I found out that we're part of Spain that we never knew abt. You are right abuot Spain is still white European, not Hispanic. Tell him there is no reason for him to be upset. :)

well you can't complaint, I understand. you can't help because difficult relative your history gerontology your family!

I wonder what if we are related somehow? We should share our grandparents and many generation grandparents' surnames. It's fun.. If we find we have some similar surnames. You never know.

My ancestors hail from England, France, Wales, Scotland, Welsh, Germany, Ireland, and I also learned that I am part of Spain, Denmark and Norway (from the royal family).. My dad told me that he heard the rumor that we may be part of an Indian from my grandmother's grandfather's wife, but I tried to figure out where we come from there.. I haven't found any proof yet.

You have to build your family tree. You can add yourself, your parents, and your siblings, Second, you can add what YOU know on your parents' side of the family and so on.. You can contact your grandparents and ask them who their parents and grandparents were like ask them for their names, DOB/DOD, marriage, and etc...

I have done a lot.. Of course, it is a lot of work, but it is worth.
