Just watched it and I don't understand some thing.

Why is Jodie the only spirit visible in the house, and not her family?

Also why did Jodie shed a tear and went through the floor?

Well, these movies are full of plot holes. Not only to mention that the story itself is fictional. It was a big hoax back then when the story broke out.

I didn't really like either versions (the original and the remake). There's really no explanations or answers to these questions of yours. It's due to poor screenwriting and random thoughts. The director may had thought... hey... let's put that in to make it look spooky and cool!

Really, that's the best I could come up with!

We ought to IM each other more since you seem to be really into movies.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answers to those questions. It's been a long, long time since I read the book so the details are vague right now.

It was a very good question, but I don't know the answer either. I find that strange that they only saw Jodie spirit not the family.
