Former "Growing Pains" child star Tracey Gold pleaded guilty to driving drunk when her sport utility vehicle overturned, hurting her husband and two of her three children.

Tracey Gold Marshall, 35, sobbed as she stood before a Superior Court judge Thursday and heard the charges against her - one count of felony drunken driving causing injury to her husband and two allegations that she caused injury to two of her sons.

When asked how she intended to plead, she replied an almost inaudible, "guilty."

The former actress, who played Carol Seaver during the seven-year run of "Growing Pains," which ended production in 1992, was behind the wheel of the SUV on Sept. 3, 2004, when it went off a highway in Moorpark and rolled down an embankment.

She will be sentenced March 21. The crimes could lead to a five-year prison term, although Deputy District Attorney John Vanarelli said she would likely be placed on probation because it was her first drunken driving offense.

Mrs. Marshall, her husband Roby Marshall and defense lawyers declined comment.

"For good reasons, we've decided not to discuss this until it is presented to the court for sentencing," defense attorney Chuck Samonsky said.

Mrs. Marshall and her infant son weren't hurt in the crash, but her husband suffered neck injuries and the couple's 5- and 7-year-old sons suffered minor injuries.

This is a sad story. She suffered from an eating disorder for years, and has been troubled by demons. I'm no expert, but it would seem that she cross addicted once she regained her weight. I wish her well, and hope she finds some peace one day.

Damn! That's fucked up! I never realized that it would go this far!

I don't think anybody did, Vampy. But, I am sure they discussed all the charges with her, and they probably had enough evidence to nail her ass. She probably realized it would be better for her if she plead out, and got probation. I believe she needs help, and I hope she gets it. This is a case where throwing her butt behind bars would only serve to add to her problems. She's not one that needs "punishment", but treatment.

:jaw: :jaw: i cant believe that she did!!!!! wow!!! but i am sowwy the family got hurt but not dead..

i am not surprised... she always had problems (drinking, i think.. i dont remember) .. and too bad it got this far.. wish she got help in the past to prevent it from going this far.. (sigh)

Thats a god damn fake cry! You know actors and actresses are? Thats their talent. If you really belive shes sorry and her cry is real, then yall would belive wrestling is real too.

If I were the judge, I would order her to go to alcoholic meetings and have her urine sample done on weekly basis to make sure she stays sober. I have enjoyed watching Tracy on Growing Pains show for years and watched the movie about her dealing with eating disorder. I don't think jail is the answer since it was her first offense. She's a mother and wife and her family still needs her.

If i was the judge id give her 6 months in county jail. 60 hours of community service and she must do a public servent commerical against drunk driving. Plus pay a $5,000 fine.

Yes agreed, I think she made a mistake beside she did plead guilty, and that shows that she willing to live up to her mistakes because she was wrong. Alot of people wouldn't do that or even cared if someone got hurt during the accident. But she did care, because she put her family in dangerous from her drinking. ;)

What? I didn't even know that she was in big trouble for that, but I knew she had some eating problems until now about this, wow it surprised me.

Ban Alcohol

My dad would still be alive today.
But anyway...

Why not sued Alcohol beverage companies? They are the one
who destroyed many lives and still get fancy rich by selling alcohol?

That AIN"T FAIR.

You can't do that, because, of a little something called "personal responsibility". Granted, the tobacco companies have been sued, but in my opinion, unfairly.

People need to take responsibilty for what they do. A person chooses to drink, and or smoke. Once they make that choice, they assume the health risks associated with that behavior.

As for banning cig companies, that won't happen. Tobacco is very profitable.

Actually, you can ban them. I meant, why is pot illegal while alcohol is clearly more dangerous?

Strange, don't you think?

I know banning alcohol won't work unless Canada do the same. That was one of the biggest factors in the failure of the prohibition in the 20s.

I do think it's strange, yes. There are a lot of inconsistencies. I also don't think we'll ban alcohol or tobacco. This country would have a massive shit fit if that was ever tried again.

By the way, I strongly believe that driving while drunk should be made a federal offense. Especially when driving is not a right, it is a privilege.

Many, many people get killed by drunk drivers every year, and yet some of them walk free.

Anybody should know better to not drive when they are drunk, it should be not tolerated at all. Even if you didn't hit anything, you were still under the influence and made the choice to drive. You "knew" that you shouldn't be driving, but you did.

The choice itself should be enough to warrant a prison sentence and revoke the driver license for at least 5 years, no less.

Yeah, I know what you mean. In Ontario, where I live... they are going to propose a new law banning smoking in ALL public places leaving the only choice which is to smoke at home. Not even smoking in your car in a parking lot will be tolerated.

Florida (where I live) has a similiar ban. There are exceptions, but for the most part, you can only smoke in your home. The exception, I believe, is if you go to an establisment with a bar. I'm unclear of the exact nature of the exception, though.

Heres the solution, Bring back Prohabition!

 And, watch the country have a total meltdown? You ready to move to Europe, Steve? Because, you'd have to if we ever brought back prohibition!
