Have you heard of BIPOLAR?

Only I know itself dead mental beat.

Yes I have....Patty Duke Astin (actress) is known for having this.

Yes, I have heard of bipolar. This is a brief definition:

"Bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression) is a treatable illness marked by extreme changes in mood, thought, energy and behavior. It is not a character flaw or a sign of personal weakness. Bipolar disorder is also known as manic depression because a person’s mood can alternate between the 'poles' mania (highs) and depression (lows). This change in mood or 'mood swing' can last for hours, days weeks or months."

I'm bipolar affective.....and I know that a bipolar gene has been linked to chromosome 18.

I've lived through the rollercoaster of a bipolar wife for 5 yrs. I need to say no more!

Richard

Yeah I'm familiar with that term...my stepfather has been suffering by bipoloar disorder ever since he was a kid.

Just out of curiousty, why are we discussing this?

You want know why I am picking this one. The person who is bipolar and I know that person is part of this alldeaf.com. It is wickly and all that I have learn what bipolar can affect my decision.

I feel like I will never be interesting if person is bipolar and doesn't want be friend. I didn't mean to meanie. It is just all the false; for example, have been help to that person and nothing went wrong then that "snap" become mannic to reveraged people. When I don't understand what person doing that until I discover about bipolar.

Only people who take care themselve is fine and didn't see that will affect that life. Only person who have no med or anything treatment with bipolar. I would high recommend stay away even I learned my aunt have bipolar then both my uncle and aunt divorced long ago.

Seem that bipolar can destory the people or marriage. It is scary to stand arond people who have bipolar because of what happen.

Just wonder who have bipolar, are they suppose to be treatment well or how often that suppose to be?

I don't believe in those things, bipolar, depression, or whatever...

I just think it is only part of emotion. When you get mad, you get mad, when you get sad, you get sad, when you get happy, you get happy.
Always a reason to.

If you don't know why the person is mad, then you know you did something wrong... or push the person button. Or sometimes some people slowly
develop anger... Or they wait until you or them not being business and they turned on their anger at you later.

The Bipolar is a emotion related because itself has disorder that can't balance from your brain chemical. If one go up and that turn storm out for no reason. Bipolar sometime can't noticed themselve.

Speaking about push button, you don't know what is going on. I am just point subject about bipolar and there is no point the actually caused by push the button.

Bipolar itself is not gone to wait until to be mad. It can be snap like out of no where. It is depend where your chemical respond the opposite side of nerves where around your brain responds. There is no cure for bipolar because they think they are normal but the behind of line is not. They just need a help and studying their behave like we are their second brain or judge between the right or wrong. The angry with bipolar is alot different than the normally you mad. Bipolar do obessive for one thing and dirse want to be done but people doesn't met her or his needed.

There is no "I think...."

I am just posting this who have illness of that relate since my aunt aren't allow to connect us due the court order. It is all messing that time when I was 5 years old. You can see a normal face but a fake smile on face. It is scary me because I don't know what my aunt was thinking.

Yes I agree, it does cause problem in the marriage...I know a few who has suffer by bipoloar and there has been somewhat problems between their friends, family, marriage, and their children also....

There are times I had tried to help a friend who has suffered by bipoloar disorder but it seem that I could never get thru her no matter how hard I tried... There was a time when I saw her slap her daug right in the face for no simple reason, boy it scared the living out of me...:(

I disagreed! My suggestion for you is to visit mental ward, and see for yourself. I was visiting there myself. Some of them goes nuts for no reason. I have seen alot people going nuts for no apparently reason... In fact I have witness few incidents that somebody was fine and in high mood, and next minute that same person became so mad and miserable. I tried to figure out what the F**KIN went wrong... Couldn't figure then few minutes later that same person become happy person... I said WTF? But, that is what I SAW already.
So, do NOT assume that nobody has problem! There is problem out there wheather it is visible or not.

Yes I understand what you mean that what my aunt did to her baby drag baby's arm and hit the counter's coner. My grandma try to calm but thing doesn't work out.

One thing is bother me out there who has bipolar and even you try to help your friend. You did nothing but she or he point said a thing even there no invloved the proof. The person won who have bipolar but putting you in more suffer because more blame even you do nothing. I feel that judge or court house of system need check our background to proof before blame the charge. It is because that what is happening. I do not care if person just come here read this message because it is true and I was there the whole time but judge believe the bipolar.

What strange thing my family say, let hope they kill themselve. I told them that is not nice the way that words like that. The reason they said that way you are free from that suffer by manic people.

I guess I made big deal of this subject matter. It just want to say that we all of the people have to watch out the bipolar but nothing wrong with help them.

It might dumb friendly reminder that we have program called "United Way" can help us that we don't have to handle this. United Way do help with start on mental issue or anything to "avoid" the problem.

One of my family member who is cop and told me whoever is bipolar tend to speak themselve to kill themselve until it actually did. It is all from mind chemical.

Hopefully out there in future or people that can overcome with bipolar in another way.

Yep exactly diehardbiker65...That what happened to my friend, she would be herself for a while then she suddenly changed into something that I never image that this person that I know for so long would turn out to be someone that I no longer know anymore....I don't know how to help her or what I could do to make her know that I'm here for her if she ever need someone to talk to but it didn't help one bit ...I had started to feel scared not knowing what will happen next....

Yes, I´m agree with you, Angel and diehardbiker65,

It´s important to go therapy/counselling if you really wants to have the help after notice something wrong with you.

Some people refused to get the help and thinking that they are not sick. I tried to convince them that they are NOT sick but depression. They should do SOMETHING if they want to save their family life, marriage, life etc.

My biological father was bipolar. He killed himself.

My ex-sister in law has bipolar too and I never knew what to expect around her. Some days she would be sweet/laughing/really high but on other days she would be mean/cruel/very low. It was like having a light switch. I had to walk on eggshells around her.

Also I had a roommate in college - She used to stock guns under her bed in the room she was sharing with me. She would disappear for days and show up. It was very unpredictable.

It is a very serious disease. It is not like ordinary depression.

yeah, also my half brother has bi-polar, too. It's sometimes hard to have a good conversation with him, he has mood swings time to time, oh well. It's not easy sometimes.

He does disappear then come back, too. He's always turned relationships into a mess, too. I think.
