I was born in 1969 which was the year of Woodstock, the first man on the moon, President Nixon, and the Charles Manson murders.....well, I read more about the case in the link below and I can see it is interesting. :)
Manson's followers sounded kind of looney the way they did in the court trials. I wonder if they were on drugs at the time? (Someone told me almost everyone in 1969 were doing drugs -- I think she was talking about the younger people).
I remember in the 1970s, I was looking through a book my brother had titled "Helter Skelter"....and this is when I first saw a photo of Charles Manson....he looked scary! :ohno1:

Charles Manson was indeed scary...at times I think he is one of the smartess phsycos of all time...he brainwashed all of those people to commit the murders...now I dont care if someone had a gun to my head...Im not killing anyone...but then I also think he is a over-rated lil sissy...he didnt do anything...if you are crazy like he was why recruit people(many younger kids) to do your dirty work....Charles Manson is a scary looking muther though.....And Helter Skelter..thats a good book...disturbing but good...I dont think they were on drugs...just young confused individuals that got guided in the wrong direction....
 
well his grandparents were strict religious folks
and his mother was rebelling and gave birth to him when she was a teen.
And then he molested a boy at his school.
Then he was in and out of jail...

After he brainwashed young people to murdered people.
His son killed himself, because he was ashamed to be Charles Manson's
son... And his name was Charles Manson Jr.
 
We used to live not too far from Charles Manson's place in the box canyon. I remember I went with my sister and passed his place once awhile, my sister sped up and past this place. She was terrified of them. I was too young to understand what was going on then.

One day the sheriff came to my mother's office at high school. they asked this specific girl so my mother went and get her. They arrested her right front of her becasue she was his follower. She was surprised one of the student there was a follower.

My grandparents in law used to stop by the place, They had yard sale every weekend. They browsed and bought some stuffs there. They thought they were normal people. Till the murders happened. They were freak out.

oh my gosh, of course if I were in their shoes. It gives me alot of creepy. Hopefully, Charles will have a life sentence in the prision. He deserved it.
 
***goose pump*** what Roman Polanski react when he found out who kill his beloved wife... I remember some of Roman´s interviews stated how much he love her and never forget her...
 
I enjoy reading about true crime.....This case however just is so fucked up to put it mildly.
 
There are people that we have to admire for their intelligence and skill of leading others. Sure, they may have been bad... but scientists and psychologists do study these people in order to understand how they became powerful. That's why they're also highly respected in some ways. A few other people who are highly respected are Hitler and Bin Laden.
 
I remember readin' the book called "Helter Skelter" along with all photos in it when I was young. They were not worshippin' God. They worshipped Satan, because of their LSD drugs when they were gettn' high before processin' to kill famous actors/actresses. It ain't pretty to read.
