Ok I got the internet set up but... my concern is will i get billed if i use long distance call if I'm only 10 or 15 miles away from other city which has different area code?? i mean... for example I use 763 area code and my dial up access list shown mostly 612 area code and its around 15 miles away? so do i get charged for that ?

Ask your phone company for clarification and see what they say. If it is long distance then you are better off with e-mail and Yahoo messengering because it is 100 % free. :) :thumb:

Hey there -

I have no idea if you would be billed for the long distance charges since the dial up number is in a different area code, even though you only live 10-15 miles away from the next city. That's something you need to check with your telephone company to be sure and ask questions about it. Personally I do not think you need to be charged with the long distance because the different area code is just right next to you. As far as I know, usually when you dial a number that has different area codes than yours, you would normally get charged for the long distance but since you live nearby, I have no idea really. It does not hurt to try to check it out to see where it goes.

Most Internet Server Providers should have a local phone number to dial-up in all areas. Should ask them also and the phone company

All I can say for you to do is to contact the Phone company to check about the ph nbr for you to access so you wont be billed for that.

You can check online and look for dial up access numbers in your area so you can go online?

Hope this help.

how about this ?? i found on phone book ??

means i won't get billed ?

it says for qwest customers the following list of qwest served exchanges in your local calling area and there may be additional exchanges in ur local calling area that are served by independent telephone companies

Your signature is way to big. You need to make it smaller.....

That depends on the internet and what kind of phone call you make. If you're making a relay call online, there's no charge.

yes it is long distance calls... two different area codes,, you need to talk to the phone company to vertify it..

It really depends.

In San Diego, there are three area codes being used in the county and I live like 10 miles from an area where they use a different area code (just same as your case) but we don't get billed because those other area codes are IN San Diego County which nullify the "long-distance" calls.

So again, like everybody said, call your phone company. if the other area codes is in the same county, then I don't see why it should be charged as long-distance calls.
