A Sad Decision for Me

Hi everyone,

I'm afraid that I have no choice but to give Tigger to my sister. All day today she has been vomiting her food and having accident after accident in my apartment. This is too much for me to take and I can't bear to see Tigger suffer like this. It's going to break my heart giving her up, but at the same time, it breaks my heart just as much if not more to see her not being able to hold food down. What's worse is that she has lost her energy; her puppylike behaviors. I can see her age today and it makes me want to cry because all I can do is think back to the day I received her 2 days after Christmas in 1997. :(

Have you taken Tigger to the vet? Maybe she has something going on in her intestines that is causing her to vomit and have accidents, that might be able to be treated with medications? <hugs>

Feel free to email me anytime, you know my email address. You can email me any hours of the day or night as I keep my sidekick on my bed when I sleep.

Again, <hugs>

Awww, im so sorry to hear that, HA..i hate to hear when

Awww... I am sorry to hear that. Here's a  from me.

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for all of your hugs and good wishes! They mean alot and I really do appreciate it! <group hug>

It looks like I'm back on the roller coaster ride again. I took Tigger to the vet. He said the reason she keeps vomiting her food is because I'm feeding her regular sized morsels of dry dog food which she can't properly digest. He suggested that I try using a Senior Formula which has smaller chunks, so that's what I started doing today.

Good news! She hasn't thrown up once! :D

As for her accidents, Tigger's vet gave me some meds that I am to give her everyday. It looks like I will have to administer this med from now on since she is 12 (she'll be 13 in June) and showing severe signs of being unable to control her bladder.

With that being the case, I will be keeping Tigger, but my sister and I are both watching her health. If it reaches the point where I am unable to care for Tigger's needs, then my sister will take care of her instead.

I was worried as well. you never answered my pm...???

Sorry, typeingtornado. My mind was a blur today and I accidentally ended up deleting all of my PMs. Would you mind resending it to me? Please don't be upset. I didn't do it deliberately.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. You do seem to be going through a rough patch aren't you.

(hugs Hear again)

Thank you, dreama. <hugs> Actually, the good news is that my rapid cycling is under control. That's good news because now I'm handling the news of Tigger's poor health better than I would ordinarily. (Please don't flame me for mentioning rapid cycling because it's applicable to this discussion.)

I am feeling relieved... both because you're fine and Tigger too :D We were all right about taking him first to the vet. Glad you listened to us <happy smile>.

Besides you get to keep him, which is definitely good news! I would be worried about you even more if you were to loose Tigger during this difficult time in your life. Even though I am sure that your sister would take good care of your dog for sure!

That your rapid cycling is also under control is good as well! I think you pretty much deserved a nice rest in bed after all this stress :D

Have a great weekend!

<big hugs> JamieLynn

Great and Curious Did you get a new dog guide yet? :)

Oh, Phillips. I didn't answer your question. Sorry about that! No, I haven't received a new guide dog yet. I won't go for training until Tigger is officially retired.

:ty: Jamie! I'm feeling on top of the world right now because my rapid cycling is under control and I get to keep my baby girl! :D

I hope you have a great weekend as well! :)

Let's all  on HA's amazing mood, recovering beloved baby girl and the rapid cycling which mysteriously got out of the way (minus the dizziness still) *sigh*
