Today has to be one of the greatest days ever! Three things that made my day so special:
Isn’t that amazing? What a day!
- I visited with a school counsaler at my local city college in order to find out if I could return to college (financially speaking) and earn a degree in Deaf studies. By the time the meeting ended I was walking on air. I looks like that I will not be paying a single red penny for college- the exception being the cost of books (texts) and such materials. Phenomenal!! I now have to do four simple things (make a phone call, transfer credit classes from my previous college to the city college, make a disability claim for the Feds, and get a doctors letter for verification. After that I begin my college career (fee free!) this summer! That was the first remarkable event of the day.
- Later on in the afternoon I visited a childhood friend and his young family. Our discussion was mainly about how to upgrade (design wise) his website for next year. The conversation turned to computer components so I mentioned that I was currently looking at different notebooks for future purchase. My friend told me to forget about all that. He said (being a charter boat captain for many years), that he knew of a client who enjoyed sport fishing- a computer hardware guru. My friend told me that he would make a fair trade with that client: two days of deep sea fishing for two custom-made notebooks: with all the best (quality) components available today. In order words, a totally free, top of the line computer, for me! That was the second cool event of the day.
- And finally, the last remarkable event was actually the best of the three. My old friend and his wife took me aside and revealed that they were planning to have another baby. I was pleasantly surprised (shocked!). Then they told me that they wanted me to be the child’s Godfather. I was flabbergasts! What an honor! That wonderful news sealed my perfect day.
Isn’t that amazing? What a day!
