So this is a story about a girl, doing some computer work in her bedroom in her townhouse. Suddenly she starts hearing voices and is VERY VERY confused. Why are the voices talking about grown up things? She lives with other students. The girl walks around to her neighbors, but no one knows what she is talking about. They all think she has gone crazy. After about 1/2 hour outside in the snow trying to locate the voices the girl starts to wander towards the tim hortons across the street. Surprisingly, the voices don't stop. When she enters, she sees three men sitting in the corner having a conversation. FINALLY, the source of the voices. The girl walks over and introduces herself; they all have a good laugh, compare technology, and go their separate ways. The girl goes to sleep knowing she has NOT gone insane.
The End

:D Lol. I've gotten some crossed wires before. Sitting there in math class listening to someone elses science class. Basically just wandered down the hallway till I identified the teacher, then went back down to hearing support to straighten things out. That and when teachers forget and wear the FM to the bathroom. NOW I'm happy that I have different channels and can just click them off FM- before I had to either go running after them or take the hearing aids off. Or my friends will take my FM and start talking to me out in the hall or whatever. Drives me crazzyyy.

hahahaahahah when i was in high school my friends used to sing to me while i was in the bathroom and make me laugh hahahhaaha and then ppl would stare at me like i was a psycho

I remember the early FM systems from the 1980s. It was a huge box that we carried on our chests and the teacher had a big microphone on a necklace that she spoke into.

One time, she left the classroom and went to the office. My friends and I could hear the walking in the hallway and the conversations she had with other faculty/staff members along the way as well as in the office. This went on for a good 20 to 30 minutes before we heard, "Oh! I forgot to turn this off!" *click*

Hehehe!

Yhep :D My friends would like to go for a walk with it when we had a sub who was handing out worksheets, and they'd run up and down the halls gettiing random people to say Hi. I still just hate when teachers cross their arms or let it hit things. Annoying!!! And I dig your hearing aids :D The clear were always so nice-- don't know why I picked silver and black? Eh, four years ago. I wear black all the time, so I guess I thought it'd be OK. Idk. Don't really like the shiny-ness. ANyway, majorly off-topic, sorry. I just saw no one had posted on this, and I really liked it :D

The closest story I have is a long time ago when I had Hearing aids. I went to a lecture at SHHH (Self Help for Hard of Hear) meeting. The speaker had the micrphone and a telacoil system around the room. After this lecture he went to the bathroom down the hall and still had the lapel microphone turned on. So those of us with our HA could hear him in the bathroom. LOL

LOL, I remember many times my teacher forget to turn her microphone off. I had one of those big boxes worn on your chest too.

bahaha my teacher once went into his office and was like can you hear me now??? ..pause...goooooood hahahah i burst out laughing and ppl were looking at me like wtf?

The bulky things...

I broke the prongs on the thing (channel thingy, usually different colored) that went into it so I wouldnt hear a thing.

lol.. glad to hear im not the only one with funny experiences! And now my aids are programmed properly, so i can turn FM off!

Haha! Often my teachers are more curious about it than the students. The other kids are usually used to it, but there's always that kid that halfway through the year is like "What are you wearing around your neck?" O.o :P I have a teacher who is convinced that covering my mic with his hand (Phonak Easylink) will keep it from picking up noise. He just grabs it and holds it- even pressing it up against his shirt would muffle, but no, his hand doesn't work :D . Anyway, he once went over to quietly chew out a kid for mis-behaving, then, when he's walking back, goes "Did that work?" Me- "Nope." He's also held it up to his throat once when he was drinking something, trying to see if I could hear it. -INSANE-. I had another teacher that used it during a science project like a one-way walkie talkie. He'd set off a home-made rocket ship type thing for science class, measure the height, say it to me, then I'd tell someone else to write it down. LOL. Poor microphone- it's been through a lot. :D

During one of my classes the terp would wear the FM. It is a complicating reason why but on occasion I needed to hear her say things and actually...hear...it. So she had my FM on the first day and we were introducing ourselves in tutorial. It was my turn so I started to introduce myself and I could hear what the terp was voicing. It was a "what the hell!" moment for sure. Then I realized why I heard everything...

I used to hear a lot of private conversations with my FM system. I knew one teacher's husband's name.

I like it when the prof calls our schools tech support cause something isn't working and I hear 1 end of the conversation, lol. I also like it when tech support tries to blame the problem on my FM, and I have to be like "No, it's not the problem. It is designed to not interfere, and it works in EVERY OTHER CLASSROOM JUST FINE!"

I always hated the FM system because it never seemed to work. When we finally got it working, the volume was way too quiet and, therefore, useless (I could hear the teacher across the room better by HAs alone). But there was one day when a number of kids, myself included, didn't complete our homework, so we were sent out to the hall to complete it while the teacher read off the answers to the students in class, who were marking each other's papers. Yup, she forgot to turn off the FM, so I was getting a steady feed of the answers, and I relayed said answers to the other delinquents around me. Eventually we were called back in the room and the teacher realized what happened, but everyone else (and the teacher too, I guess) was cracking up. I was the hero of the day, lol.
