WILKESBORO, N.C. -- North Carolina authorities say they have found 929 gallons of moonshine under a shed in the mountains.

State Alcohol Law Enforcement officials say 63-year-old Roger Lee Nance of Wilkesboro was arrested Wednesday on charges including possession of non-tax-paid liquor for the purpose of selling.

Agency director John Ledford said it's one of the biggest mountain busts he can remember.

Spokeswoman Patty McQuillan says Nance stored moonshine in different-shaped containers under a shed in his backyard and was arrested following a two-month investigation.

A number listed for Nance was disconnected. A woman who answered another number identified herself as Nance's daughter-in-law and said she had no comment. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.

aww there are no picture! my grandpa used to do that in his basement long way back.

929 gallons?! Holy shit! It is huge!

Several cousins of mine and friends make moonshine on the Rock.

I kinda' feel it's ironic it's still being made and going on today! My g'father had a still out in the woods, and was a "bootlegger". Also remmy when I was "little" thought a Mason jar was full of water, drank some, and my throat was on fire! I got actually drunk. That stuff was really potent.

We also had a lot of grape vines, and my g'mother made a "game" out of mashing the grapes for wine. She would fill big buckets full of grapes, and we would jump in, barefooted, and squash/mash them.

My grandma made wine. It wasn't good.

My g'ma's wine wasn't good either! Tasted too sweet or something....never could undy why those country folks would drink that mess!...But some people, in the rural areas who had no electricity, no bathrooms, just outdoor johns, etc., seemed to drink a lot of moonshine or wine for entertainment.

Times were hard back then. Just didn't realize it at a young age. My sister told me once, that our g'ma was an alcoholic....I was shocked! She was the sweetest person and I loved her lots. And never know she was always drunk! She hid it very well, I have to say!

Oh c'mon, that is tottaaalllyyy for personal consumption. :D

How ironic... I just saw The Dukes of Hazzard a couple weeks ago!
