50 years since "I Have a Dream"

Do you remember who sang it? I saw the woman on TV years ago.
The version I'm most familiar with is the original recording by Dion in 1968. Other people have sung versions after that. Dion was the first and most well known. (Dion is a man.)

It was about the assassination of Bobby Kennedy.

I like Al Jazeera America and I don't care if two members laugh at me; but I will laugh at them if they use Fox News - no difference.

I remember an older Black woman singing it too.

I have a dream that we can have a discussion on MLK without making it a political catapult to attack Barack HUSSEIN Obama; the first non-American, first Muslim, most frequent golfer, worst baseball throwing, most feminine bicycle riding POTUS.

That is all.

Moms Mabley sang it the following year. Maybe that's who you're thinking of.

YES!! Thank you! I knew it the name had something about mom in it and Mabel . I just not remember the correct spelling.

I wish the whole dream had been realized in the past 50 years.

It is sad that there are still people who are dismissive of the importance of equality and just don't care at all, as long as their own narrow little lives are moving along satisfactorily .

As usual, you needed few words to hammer that nail all the way down. I write too much.

People who live narrow little lives are usually shallow people and can't see beyond their own little world.

Martin Luther King and Obama are wonderful people who have made history and will be remembered for generations. People who are small minded and narrow won't be remembered for generations. :giggle:
