We dug up some questionable fragrances — yes, real perfumes on the market — that only the bold would actually spray on their skin.

Beetroot

Serious question: Who, besides Dwight Shrute, would wear this cologne?

DemeterFragrance.com , 1 oz. cologne spray, $20.00

A Whopper

Mmm, this Burger King body spray really captures the essence of flame-broiled meat.

manolith.com, $3.99

Mildew

Remember the Harry Potter-inspired Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Jelly Beans, which came in flavors like Vomit and Earwax? This is worse.

DemeterFragrance.com, 1 oz. cologne spray $20.

Play-Doh

This scent is all fun and games until you realize you smell like a nursery-schooler.

Available from: beautyand skin.com, Cologne spray $19.44.

Earthworm

We didn't know earthworms had a smell.

Available from: DemeterFragrance.com, 1 oz. Cologne spray $20

I actually had a Demeter perfume called 'Snow'. I loved it and I can only get it online now. The Sephora store near me doesn't carry it anymore. :(

I will never buy a perfume again . I brought some years as I really liked the smell. I put some on my neck and I could not breathe , my throat starting closing up on me. It was very frighten, I was lucky I only put a small drop on . I was able to get my breath back on my own and I throw the bottle away.

Same problem here.

I have allergies too, and certain types of perfume will make me lose my breath and my throat feels like its closing up if people drown theirselves in it....as a lady that I worked with did. I can't wear Clinque, either!....

I do love "Beautiful" and "Charlie" and can wear them but only on special occasions, and spray them sparingly, never at work...just going out for dinner or the club.

I hate going to some malls as they have a dumb ass woman spaying people with perfume when you walk their store. This happen to me once and I was really piss off , as the I can't wear perfume and it smelled horrible. Perfume stores should not be having someone spaying people walking in the mall , someone could have allergies to perfume .

Wow!...never heard of something like this....some stores do have "samples" that you may try, but I've never known of any one purposely spraying perfume on someone walking in the mall.....Could be whoever sprayed you asked (verbally) first, if you would like to try a spray sample?

No, the woman was standing in front of the perfume store and sprayed people as they walked by! Yeah , it would be nice if the woman asked if you wanted to try some perfume ,. but that would make to much common sense. I did say something to the woman.

Happens a lot in the Mid-West. Never had it happen here in Florida, but then again, I haven't been to a mall since I got back. Our local Palm Beach Mall closed down.

In some of the "better" department stores they do spray perfume on women, and sometimes if a new men's cologne comes out they spray the men. Even if you say no. Sometimes I think the people get paid per how many people they spray.

LOL I just realized that you live not too far away from my Aunt & cousin. They live in Port St Lucie.

Ew, who wants to spray themselves with those kind of scents.

Give me 'Femimine' By Dolce and Gabbana anyday.

By the way, I have not seen salespersons spraying perfumes on customers. They have to spray it onto a piece of paper for the customer to sniff at now.

They used to do the spraying onto people a lot back in the day.

I doubt they get paid to use a certain amount of perfume on people. Some of the better stuff is about $1 per ounce.

Some really strong heavy perfumes/colognes irritate my allergies. I like lighter scents.

they don't do that here. They spray only with patron's permission.

I'm not allergic to perfume but wow... this evening when I walked home thru lobby, I gagged as this Guido passed by me. His scent was incredibly overpowering and he wasn't even't that close to me. I think he bathed in cologne :ugh:

I remmy one lady I worked with, every Friday, she came to work smelling like a gallon of perfume! And the scent was horrid!...I had to hold my nose and kept my distance from her....Every Friday, she came to work looking discheveled (messy), and her hair sticking all which way...so it was my guess that she had been out partying until the wee hours of the morning....not taking a bath...or had hot sex.....whatever!....and used perfume to cover up the smell!

I finally, after suffering so long, told her I could not take it another Friday!...And the boss told her...."take it easy on that damn perfume!"...Finally made it a rule in the office, No Perfumes, Please...some employees have allergies....She was miffed!

I had a friend and she had a house keeper that had really bad B O .My friend
gave her house keeper some really nice perfume for a Xmas gift and the woman use it for a couple of days. On the third day the woman came back to work smelling like her old self again. My friend asked why she was not wearing the perfume any more and she said "my husband did not like it , he like me with out it" That husband really loved his wife!

I believe in California if they sprayed anything, even water, on you without your permission it would be assault.
