Texas police seize 22 dogs found crammed inside a station wagon with their owner

.... "The car was soaked with urine and covered in feces. The ammonia level in the vehicle was 23 parts per million even after the doors had been opened for several minutes. As a frame of reference, humans start experiencing health issues at 12 parts per million," Courtney Stevens, SPCA of Texas rescue and investigations supervisor, said in a news release.

And here's the pix:

Oh my! Just when we are seeing a lot of this happening on the media - Really, I am just tired of hearing other people doing stupid things that are not based on their common sense.

Come on, let alone 22 dogs in a car with urine, feces and all these sickening stuffs.

It's sad.

From the picture it looks like they were all long haired Chihuahua or Papillon.

I wonder how she got so many costly dogs but was living like that.

OMG That's sick! Ive been in a broiler house before without a mask and the ammonia was strong enough to make my eyes and nose burn. I felt like I couldn't breath.

I have been to Pottsboro TX, and if I had seen the car and the situation, I would have called the ASPCA straight away as well as notified the authorities in Grayson County. Of course this is a mostly rural area with the closest cities being Denison and Sherman a quick 10 minute drive away. To give you an idea - the two cities of Sherman and Denison run together and are about the size of Conway, AR.

But that has got to be the skankiest thing Ive ever heard. No way I would live with 22 dogs in a car soaked with their urine and feces!

Hope that owner is charged with animal cruelity and taking those dogs away to better people who cares for dogs properly.

There are people like that who loves animals or want to take care of animals. Remember the stories that women or people have too many cats in their home and also can get sick from urine and feces. So this is the first time I am now reading and looking at the pictures of the dogs in the car. That is very unusual to have dogs in the car than in the house or outside of the yard. If the person who is living in the car gotta be a homeless person and want to take care of all those dogs, whoa. I guess he or she can not leave the dogs behind to fend themselves. Who is going to look after the dogs if no one want them? Anyway, the person must be crazy to have to take care of many dogs in the car.

Botts is right about one thing and we are puzzle about how did the homeless person managed to feed the dogs. The dogs in the car looked okay to me but they needed to get air and be out in the yard. Ugh!!

It is sad.

I read and seen many cases where people keep more animals than they can truly care for.

I really do feel sorry for the owners mental state that they are actually that lonely to have to have that many animals to depend on them. Even though they know they can not care for them. Shame that they actually seek that kind of attention. Since dogs are known to be loyal.

I can imagine the persons mental status to have so many animals to make the them feel like they are needed. Even when they know they can not care for them.

It is sickening.

urgh yuck! I feel so sorry for the doggies though!!!!!!!! :(

Somebody please save them and give them a good home!!!!

 Jeebus!! Only someone not in their right mind could live like that. I wonder what health issues both her and the dogs must struggle with as a result of that toxic enviroment.

Is it me, but dont the dogs look clean and well-groomed?

But still the environment and the situation is NOT a suitable living condition for the dogs OR the person.
