2007-08 NHL Season

LOL Ocean.. good work... now see if the Ducks continue on winning or go back to their bad quacking..hahahah

Yes, that's exciting to know they shaped up  when I drive by again will shout out loud "good job!" Go get em!!!

Well, authentic ya cant have both worlds of all... sure the first generation of Soviet players came over to play in the NHL, they sure paved the way for the next generations of Russian players to come over and play in the NHL .. .like Ovechkin, Pavel Datsyuk, Ilya Kovalchuk, and more to entertain us for years to come...

As for the boring style of the NHL play, that is the case in the USA (southern part) but the rest of the USA along with Canada fans are happy and excited to see hockey playing and more... one thing that was brought over from the international hockey community was the shootout (used in the Olympics) which I thought at first was a bad idea but it has warmed me over to that.. the shootout is perfect for breaking ties in the regular season but that wont even be used in the playoffs as we prefer long overtime sessions to keep us on the edges of our couchs rooting hard... that what I want to see leave as is for the playoffs.... I'm sorry ya dont see the NHL as exciting as I do, as I have been watching NHL hockey since 1987 on tv (7 of them I have gone to see in person at arenas) and I do enjoy watching games on tv for both NHL, junior hockey and international hockey competitions such as the popular Christmas tourny the World Junior Hockey championships for juniors under the 20 age group which I have see my beloved Team Canada win gold medals (they are currently the 4 time defending WJC champs as they have won from 2005, 2006, 2007 and now 2008)... it's great to see international hockey all over and see how my Canadian players do well enough or so!

:gpost:

TTT

Hockey was my favorite sport since I was little kid because of Espo, Orr and Cheeves got me in there. Since then I went to countless games of Bruins, Canadiens, and Whalers along few WJC 1996 games hosted by Massachusetts, NCAA Semi-Final games and World Cup Of Hockey 2004's USA vs Canada. I loves to see non-stop action with beauty moves, pretty pass, wicked wristshot, and big bodycheck on open ice.

What more, NHL playoff are very unpredication than any sport....I didn't remmy who was last time President Trophy win Stanely Cup, Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992?

Until mixed martial arts came in to become my top favorite of sports along with hockey, football, and Winter Olympic Game (great to see NHL players there and women's hockey there).

Canada Cup and World Cup Of Hockey were best hockey tourney.

Northstar, you are lucky to live in Canada where "mecca" sport there...I hope one day I will make trip to Toronto to vist Hockey Hall Of Fame which I went there decade ago as old building next to former home of Toronto Blue Jays' Exhibition Stadium....during that trip, I was susprised that deaf clubs had hockey team to play against each other like softball and basetkball in america here.

Okay, I likes new rules after NHL season lock out along salary cap. Crosby and Overckin did save NHL as much like they reminded me of NBA's Celtics Larry Bird and Lakers' Magic Johnson that saved NBA decades ago.

Max... last time a President's Trophy winner also captured the Stanley Cup in the same year was Detroit in 2002....

Dude I am not a hockey fan!!! Sorry but hope your team does a good job this year. good luck you all!!! :D

The Dallas Stars won today they beat Detriot Red Wings. I didn't see any brutal fighting like other times :giggle: Let's see if the Anaheim Ducks can upset Calgary :nana::nana::nana: Northstar

Which team you cheer for? Quebec or Winnipeg?

I missed Quebec as good team, Stastny Brothers, quiet star player Joe Sakic and of course, Bruins's rival, too.

Unforgotten moment : Nords fans never forgive Bruins coach Mike Milbury for not take Nords Guy Lafleur during his final season on his Eastern All Star team...they booed and threw the ojbect on the ice during Bruins vs Nords game....that led to force NHL to set "speical player" or "milestone player" to be add to All Star rosters.

NHL left greatest hockey fans of canadians teams out for greedy american teams. Yes, part of its that helped Ava and Stars won Stanely Cup. Same thing with from Hartford Whalers to Caronlina 'Canes to win the Cup, too.

Max... I am a longtime Winnipeg Jets fan as I have rooted for the Jets for maybe 10 years or so before the Jets left for the desert of Arizona.... I will cherish the times I have gone to the old Winnipeg Arena for my first NHL game Feb 1992 vs the San Jose Sharks (Wpg shut out SJ 6-0 and I could still hear the Bob-bee chants in the Arena!! Loud enough for me!!! WOOO!!!)

AND I also rooted for Les Nordiques as well... wished the Nords would have remained in Quebec City and would have gotten a new logo look and jersey (I have that jersey pic here in my folder) and etc..

Who knows if both Winnipeg and Quebec City will eventually return to the NHL?? Winnipeg do have one edge over QC, that is a new arena (the MTS Centre which I have gone to 3 times in the past year) te MTS Centre is a beautiful arena where I can root for my AHL Manitoba Moose who play there... If QC can get a new arena or so, if it works during the 2008 World Hockey Championships that will be coming to both QC and Halifax (dual hosts) as well... maybe a new arena will be forcoming?? who knows???

I saw those brawls wowie Oilers mad at Canucks LOL btw.. those comments mentioned that the Oilers don't have chance

HAHAH Ocean.. well the Oilers and Canucks are in the same division so 8 games against each other will fan up the rivalary good enough and get the bloods boiling good..lol....
