2 found dead inside deflated balloon

If they had any inkling it was very dangerous to do that then they would have not done it. They thoughtit was all in fun and unfortunately, it cost them their life. That has got to be very hard on the parents , especially the grandparents as well as their families. My prayers go out to those families and May God comfort them during this very difficult time somehow. p.s. Levonian, I don't think it was right of you to say that because God forbid, it could happen to anybody, even you and you may have thought something looked like it could be fun then tragically enough, it cost your life. I think the news media wanted to send this story out so that hopefully lives can be saved.

Yes, I realize that my sarcasm was childish and immature, and that I should show a little bit more respect towards their families. But I just can’t fathom how ANYBODY would deliberately enter a sealed, oxygen-free environment! It truly gives new meaning to the expression ‘what were ya thinkin’?

ouch.. thats not good. i hope this will send messages to other people who inhale helium to get the rush of high that this is dangerous and show them tht is is wrong to do that.. May God bless the family whose students were perished in this sad tragedy. :(

sad story. lost someone is tragerdy. that would happen to me. With Helium, just few seconds you are gone!

i experienced at chemistry class in high school. excuse me i dont follow your azz. my teacher said it is ok to inhale pure oxygen not like we breath and it could make you too hyperactive. I once inhaled much from oxygen and freak out. I lost and hide in gym. They searched for me and found me. One of biology was mad at him for letting students to inhale oxygen.

I don't think these kids even knew they were walking into a helium-rich environment. All they saw was a cool balloon and walked in there then they died.
I shudder just to think about it..... :ugh:

But that’s what’s so incredulous about the whole thing—they probably didn’t know it was filled with helium. But the story said that they both deliberately pulled the balloon down. They should have known that it was impossible that the balloon was filled with air—if it were, it wouldn’t float. If you had shown me that balloon when I was in elementary school and asked me if it were filled with air, I would have responded “no, it’s filled with either helium or hydrogen”.

There goes the deliberate dumbing of our American kid's education these days.....

Yep—we live in a society in which 47% of all adults are unaware that the stars are other suns. It just defies belief.

Which is why we need to kick out the liberal establishment's values and teach our kids conservative high moral values and provide them with real educational skills and be able to think on paper and a Number 2 yellow pencil then we will be mighty amongst nations once again.

That is all well and good. You forget that these things go in cycles and this country is going through a down one. The real question is will it ever recover? That is the million dollar question... Look to history...it is replete with examples of countries that are a shadow of it's former glory. A very recent example is Russia and further back Britain. We are not immune from it and the rising country right now is China whether we like it or not.

And this month’s Darwin Award goes to…drum roll, please…

These two. :thumb: :applause:

Agreed! I don't think you have to have respect for the dead when it's two dead idiots.

As for their families--perhaps they have been spared some other disaster that would have taken them all out (like the dumb-asses cooking with the propare bbq in the house or cleaning up with a little bleach and Windex cocktail).

Two less morons on the planet, only a couple billion to go.
