14 years old boy with Downs Syndrome suspended for sexual harassment

Last time, there was 16-yr female with Downs Syndrome just yank my hair. I wouldn't dare to hit her because it's very understand that she isn't aware of right and wrong.

I think school board need to take light up on boy which isn't aware of right/wrong and just simple need an education to understand.
 
I dont know what I think. I didnt see the video of the incident. Did the boy try to dry-hump the woman? She had to scream for help. The boy already has a mustache. Do boys with downs syndrome masturbate? I just dont know anything about them.

anyway i answer your question royale. i think yes, little harsh punishment. bec down syndrome people not is understand about sexual. they never education about sexual harrassment bec people never teach them. not their fault for not know which right or wrong. down syndrome people mind is work different way.

It's interesting that some children with downs syndrome with sign language, it help understand better. I learn it from deaf camp. It give a little better effect to understand the wrong/right stuff.
 
Something isn't right. Why wouldn't they let the mother see the tape even thou it has her own son in it? She can sue them since it sounds like they are hiding something without giving her any specific proof.
 
I heard on TV news that not only will the school not let anyone view the security tape, they plan on destroying the tape!

For some reason this is what a lot of schools do. My cousin got in a fight on school grounds. They suspended him for something he claims wasn't his fault. When the family asked to see the tapes, they were denied. Later I was told that there were no tapes from someone who worked in the school, whom I knew personally.

EDIT: at any rate, whether it was the boy's fault or not, I do wonder where he found out how to imitate sex. I'm not at all pointing the finger LOL, just curious.

Frankly, they have no grounds to suspend a student if they plan on destroying the evidence without showing it to anyone first.
 
I do not know to say except I feel it is parents duty to teach them about girls and women. I have a dear friend, he has a brother who is mentally handicap and he made hit on me several time but our friend's father taught him not to do it and he leave me alone. i can understand men do have urge especially hormones things. We do have special place not too far from here where they keep those men with mentally handicap who has this kind of problems. sad.

I does not say if the mother has a lawyer, I would think she would hired one and taken this to court and demand to see the tape. This is going to be on the boy school records and will stay on it a long time!
 
In my opinion, this is one consequence of mainstreaming. The child involved didn't understand the ramifications of his actions, so I feel the punishment was severe. However, given that the school has a zero policy tolerance on sexual harrassment they had to follow through according to the student code of conduct put forth by the school. This, regardless of who that studen is, and the circumstances of the incident.

This is where some understanding of the child comes into play.

But why would they refuse to show the tape to anyone and the fact that they will destroy the evidence? I hope they have a good lawyer.
