Appomattox Co., VA - An Appomattox woman is in the hospital after police
say she was stabbed several times by her own grandson. You have a 57 year
old deaf grandmother in the hospital and her 10 year old grandson in the Psychiatric Ward accused of stabbing her.
It's an unusual case that even got police upset. Police say it happened Wednesday at a house on Red House Road. Investigators claim the grand-
mother was babysitting the boy when something set him off.
He's accused of stabbing the grandmother numerous times with a steak
knife. She was rushed to Lynchburg General. Her injuries are reported
to be non-life threatening. Neighbors were shocked.
Mike Doss, Neighbor - "It's sad, I don't know what they should
do with these young ones, but it's sad."
Police aren't sure if charges will be filed against the boy, they're waiting
for doctors to conclude a mental evaluation.
