10 Good Reasons to Avoid Sodas

^^ He's right ...

Then drink something else. Drinking water isn't the only healthy choice out there.

I drink cranberry juice but the problem is that I would drink cranberry juice at work if they have those small bottles then I wouldn't be drinking Dr. Pepper all the time

This thread seems familiar..didnt we discuss this before??
i think it was started by PePe LePew, wasnt it?...maybe im
wrong but i think it got locked up..heh.:dunno2:

I recall reading that people on average consumed around 3 to 6 bottles of soda pop on an annual basis 50 years ago. Today, some people drink the same or more in a single day.

Just think of the harmful effects.

Well, you can always buy bottles and put cranberry juice in it, keep it chilled and bring it to work. That's what I do at work. Besides, buying food and drinks at work is usually a rip-off.

Good idea, thanks, I will do that and then I can quit drinking Dr. Pepper!

Glad to be of help. It's a real health issue that I believe many people are not really fully aware of. People know it is not good for them, but they do not know how harmful it can be in the long run due to the overconsumption.

Nothing wrong with drinking a couple cans of soda pop on a weekly basis, but drinking 2 to 4 cans on a daily basis is somewhere excessive in the long run.

Overindulging is not a laughing matter, especially in children. We never have been fatter than ever and no, our eating habits is not solely responsible. There are more factors to it than many people may be aware of.

:gpost: That was about diet sodas exclusively, though. However, it went into all sorts of different directions. But, the basic theme was the same. "Soda is bad for you..."

Same song, second verse, I say.

I drink about 4 to 6 12oz cans of soda a day. I weigh 130. I am 46 and I have been doing this all my life.

Then you will have diabetics from drinking soda later in life

That's a heck of a blanket statement to make! One doesn't get diabetes from sugar consumption alone. One's own genetics also comes into play as well. Granted, too much of ANYTHING isn't necessarily good, but saying someone is going to develop diabetes just because they drink alot of soda is reaching a bit.

Did you know that juice also contains alot of sugar? So does lemonade, limeade, and other beverages.

So, be careful what you single out.

Well, it can still happen

I drink less soda and more water. I like strawberry soda its my favorite along with Cherry Coke. I do drink mostly juices, lemonade, ice tea and water.

Cherry coke stopped making down here unfortunately.

Yes, but there´re many juices with or without sugars or sweetner addifial. You need to read their label either they add sugar or not... I bought 100% pure juice with no sugar added.

Basically, you are gulping down approximately 225 grams of sugar a day. A single 12oz can of Pepsi would contain around 40 to 45% of recommended daily intake of sugar.
